Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Consumer Health business to create a new publicly traded company. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 24 months, and it will be subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as required, and other customary conditions and approvals.     

 It is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, this position may be conveyed with New Consumer Health. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to the successful candidate by New Consumer Health at an appropriate time and would be subject to any necessary consultation processes.    

Job Description

Commercial Quality is the global Consumer organization responsible for Quality support to the commercial operations space, including distribution, in full compliance with health authority regulations and the Consumer Quality Standards. Within the Commercial Quality organization, this position is responsible for regional leadership of the Quality resources which provide Quality Operations support services in the areas of Transportation, Temperature Control, and Customer Service. The Deliver Quality Senior Manager leads a team responsible for ensuring the robustness, efficiency, effectiveness, and continuing suitability of service delivery in the EMEA region.

This role provides leadership for certain services element for Commercial Quality to support a rapidly changing business with complex and diverse product lines.

Primary Services In Scope Include
  • Quality Operations support for the Regional Transportation Organization and the IRTE organization executing in EMEA.
  • Ensuring compliant regional execution and implementation of transportation lane mapping studies, mode qualifications and temperature control systems related to transportation (e.g. monitoring).
  • Quality Operations support to the customer service organizations in the region.
  • Providing Transportation and Temperature Control supplier quality management services in accordance with standard purchasing controls procedures.
  • Interfacing with Regional Deliver Operations to provide a consolidated Quality Review, Metrics and Reporting for the services in scope.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Defines in collaboration with the Operations and Quality representatives of the business, Q&C Processes, Systems and SOPs, in line with policies, standards and applicable regulations.
  • Provides coaching, guidance, and leadership for the Deliver Quality team. Ensures continuous development of the team. Identifies high potential talent, mentors, and advocates for that talent, and works proactively to accelerate development.
  • Leads improvement strategy that includes responsibilities for development, implementation, and optimization of the service model in the region. Drives the applicable Regional Quality Objectives process ensuring effective deployment and monitoring. Establishes programs to effectively monitor and assess the quality system through metrics, scorecards, and non-formal Quality Review with regional Deliver Operations.
  • Is an extended Deliver Regional Operations leadership team (LT) member, acting as the SPOC for Quality representation on the LT. Responsible for delivering and explaining regional Quality performance metrics on a routine basis and representing Quality for annual regional Deliver objectives planning in transportation and customer service Quality.
  • Ensures robust performance and continuous improvement of the supplier quality program. Responsible for strategic aspects of regional supplier management. Influences and drives improvement in supplier performance through engagement at quarterly business reviews.
  • Participate in benchmarking activities and industry conferences; integrate knowledge into the program strategies
  • Identify and explore best practices to improve regional processes in support of the Commercial and Deliver organizations.
  • Ensure budget timelines are met (LRFP, MU, JU, BP), budgets are established and are monitored though out the year.
  • Implements programs and projects to achieve cost improvement targets.
  • Develop and manage relationships with internal and external trade and regulatory organizations as appropriate.
  • Other activities as required by management.
Qualifications

Position Requirements:
  • 10 years or more, with quality and regulatory compliance competencies in the areas of customer service, transportation, distribution, temperature control and commercial operations for a healthcare business.
  • Business Fluency in English.
  • University degree from a nationally accredited institution.
  • Decisive, organized, and able to lead people within a complex regional environment.
  • Previous experience interfacing with global regulatory agencies, e.g., ANVISA, INVIMA, FDA, MHRA, TGA, notified bodies, etc., and a history of success and credibility in resolving regulatory compliance issues.
  • Experience in positions of increasing responsibility supporting large, multi-site, regional organizations, with broad quality system management experience, including advanced Quality Technology Systems. Expert level knowledge on Audit and Inspection, Change Control, NC/CAPA, Root Cause Analysis, and Documentation Control.
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills, able to inspire trust and quickly build credibility within the Quality & Compliance, Supply Chain, and Commercial organizations.
Preferred Requirements/Competencies
  • Experience with the regional aspects of the role specifically: multi-cultural / multi-country locations and country specific healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in building consensus and able to impact outcomes without always having line authority.
  • Ability to negotiate trade off decisions across the organization. Must have strong collaboration and influence management skills to partner effectively across functions and operating units.
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills with a Bifocal approach - the ability to zoom-in/zoom-out for strategic and tactical, high-level, and detailed.
  • High tolerance for ambiguity in a complex environment. Makes the complex clear and easily understood by others.
