To continue on its journey of growth Unilever Belgium is now looking for top talent to join our team as district manager within the Out Of Home field sales team
You will be part of the bigger F&R family and will be in the Refreshment team. Unilever Out Of Home (on trade) is a department of Unilever Belux that specializes in the sale of Horeca and Impulse products. We all want to get past the Covid lock down years asap so let’s talk pre-Covid 2019 numbers . Out of Home represents 12.5% of the Unilever Belux business and 26% within the Unilever Belux refreshment business.
The OOH business has a CAGR of +4% over the past years (before COVID) and excels thanks to very strong brands, strong marketing support and an experienced sales team. Our OOH business consists of 27% ice cream, 70% beverages and 3% foods. The brands we have in our portfolio are Lipton Ice Tea, Ola, Ben & Jerry’s, Zwan, etc. We hold a market leader position in most markets in which we operate.
Your key responsibilities:
The Out Of Home field sales team Belux is divided into 11 different districts. Every district is managed by a district manager, and all districts are supported by one or two field promotors. The district manager is responsible for all OOH brands & reports to the national field manager.
The mission of the district manager is to translate the brand plans to the end outlets within their district, driving distribution in collaboration with brewers and grow the Unilever business within their district together with the field promotors.
As district manager, you’re in the lead to develop the Unilever business within your district:
- Help our customers to grow their business with our brands: Drive distribution and visibility of our brands, focusing on ‘core of the core’ and key innovations. Answer the needs of our customers with relevant trade stories and the needs of our consumers with the right assortment, Point of Sale Material, … tailored to the location. The district manager manages two types of customers; brewers/wholesalers and our A end outlets (cluster and independent). B, C and D outlets will be visited by the field promotors within the district.
- Building and developing the teamwithin the district: you’re directly coaching and guiding one or two field promotors within your district. You’re a talent catalyst, improving their strengths and let each other contribute to the performance of the district.
- Internally represent the voice of your customers and consumers: understand the needs of your customers and represent that voice within the company, helping to shape our brand plans.

Your skills & experiences:
- 3+ years of experience within field sales or as ‘regio manager’ within FMCG
- Fluent in French and/or Dutch, depending on your district
- You are a positive & enthusiast team player that gets energy out of team & colleagues
- You can process a lot of information, are pro-active & put forward priorities for you district
- You are commercial addict & are able to see more opportunities than problems.
- Knowledge about the OOH channel is a plus
- Good sense of urgency and will to act.
- Creativity and think outside the box
