  • Ensure that Agilent Belgium’s operations remain compliant with national environmental and health - safety legislations and aligned with Agilent’s internal EHS Management System requirements.
  • You will work closely with European Workplace Services, EHS and other Agilent business functions to provide support for pan-European EHS programs as required.
Main tasks include:
  • EHS manager for Belgium - represent our company in the field of EHS
  • Contact person for competent authorities and other regulatory bodies
  • Fulfil the role of Prevention Officer as outlined in the -Codex over het welzijn op het werk-
  • Assess and oversee the mitigation of the requirements of environmental and Health - Safety regulations in Belgium and those activities impacted by relevant European EHS obligations.
  • Review, adapt and conduct applicable EHS training as required.
  • Implement Agilent company-wide EHS procedures and policies as required. Lead reviews of EHS performance, issues, new policies or procedures.
  • Collaboration in the operational activities of the Company-wide EHS management system (aligned to ISO 14001 and 45001)
  • Cooperate closely with the Agilent Workplace Services, Business Operations and other internal customers from all company divisions.
  • Collaborate with external service providers, property insurers, authorities and employers’ liability insurance associations as well as cooperation with authorized persons (e.g. external safety specialists, electrical safety specialists, fire protection officers, company physicians) to ensure compliance and streamlined communication.
  • Participation in Agilent-s Environmental, Health and Safety audit program.
  • Action tracking, control and monitoring of all environmental and safety-related topics and tasks (EHS).
  • Head of Emergency Response Teams, supervision and coordination of internal business continuity programs (Emergency Preparedness - Response, Disaster Recovery, Crisis Management)
  • Project management and program management in the area of EHS.
  • Share your knowledge and best practices to EHS-peers and are willing to travel between the different locations in Belgium on a regular basis and abroad to other Agilent international / European locations when needed.
  • Responsible for the topicality and management of:
  • Environmental permit;
  • RI-E’s with Plan of Action;
  • Agilent-s EHS management system;
  • Building - organizational security;
  • Emergency plan and -instructions.
QualificationsWhat do we ask of you?
  • Completed studies in a technical/scientific field or a comparable degree. eg Graduate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology or Environmental Sciences.
  • Qualification as a specialist in occupational health - safety (Level1 or willing to become) or environmental management is desirable.
  • At least 4 years of relevant work experience;
  • Membership of professional association(s);
  • Experience with EHS management systems (ISO/VCA)
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English
  • Clear vision on how EHS should be managed locally together with the right strategy to get there
  • Professionally competent to assess the requirements of Environmental and Health - Safety regulations in Belgium.
  • An appreciation of pan-European regulations is desirable.
  • Independent and structured way of working as well as a distinct hands-on mentality and enjoy advancing your ideas as part of a team.
  • Living in Belgium.
