A career in our Assurance Regulatory Risk and Quality Control practice, within Risk Assurance Compliance and Analytics services, will provide you with the opportunity to assist clients in developing analytics and technology solutions that help them detect, monitor, and predict risk. Using advanced technology, we’re able to focus on establishing the right controls, processes and structures for our clients to ensure that decisions are based on accurate information and assure that information provided to third parties is accurate, complete, and can be trusted.

Our team helps monitor the overall regulatory environment, including interactions, data requests, communications and training around regulatory requirements. In joining, you’ll stay up to date on regulatory changes and provide our clients with the right resources to decrease their risk levels and maintain compliance.

We’re looking for an experienced Insurance Actuary to join our Governance, Risk and Compliance team.

What you’ll learn and do

Our Insurance & Benefits Actuarial Services are mainly active in the field of Solvency II implementations and IFRS conversions, audit support to insurance companies, insurance risk management consulting and employee benefits.

Our consultants work in close collaboration with our IFRS specialists, employee benefit consultants, tax & legal consultants, and risk management consultants, as well as with our auditors and Deals consultants.

We are looking to expand our team with a Senior Consultant (Senior) Manager and/or Director at our Brussels office.

  • You will help our clients assess the impact of IFRS 17 and Solvency II

  • You will help develop our insurance department and service offering

  • You will be in charge of (life) insurance projects within our client network

You will work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Train and lead staff

  • Establish effective working relationships directly with clients

  • Contribute to the development of your own and team’s technical acumen

  • Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues

  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients

  • Have regular interactions with colleagues in other PwC territories to jointly develop go-to-market solutions and technical positions on IFRS 17 and Solvency II.

Aside from this, you will have an important role within PwC supporting our : Audit Department: You will assist them by answering technical questions about IFRS or Solvency II and reviewing the level of technical provisions of Insurance Companies based on the Belgian accounting rules, IFRS and Solvency II.

Who you are

  • Experience: You are a qualified actuary with a minimum of relevant experience of:

    • 3 years of experience for a Senior Consultant position

    • 5 years of experience for a Manager position

    • 10 years of experience for a Director position

  • During this experience, you have come in contact with some of the following topics:

    • IFRS17

    • Solvency II

    • Reserving, pricing, ALM...

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Actuarial Sciences.

  • Languages: You are fluent in French, Dutch and English.

  • Skills: You have a good technical expertise, you are eager to learn, open minded, client-oriented and a team player. IT/programming/software and Commercial skills are an asset.
