Make your mark for patients

To support our commitment, we are seeking a highly-motivated, autonomous, and experienced External Funding Specialist to join our External Funding team (Grants, Sponsorships, Donations). This person will be based out of one of Brussels (Belgium), Monheim (Germany) or Slough (UK) offices.
About The Role
The global role of the External Funding Specialist is to coordinate and manage the external funding requests (donations, grants and sponsorships) including, but not limited to, the following: arrangement of review committees; management of the review process; preparation of meeting minutes; engagement with internal and external stakeholders (HCPs, HCOs, Medical, Sales); drafting of legal documents and uploads of contracts to applicable contracting system; monitoring and payments; reconciliation of funding requests, acting as the point of contact for stakeholder queries including access requests and queries related to the management of external funding requests.
Who You’ll Work With
This role will work in close collaboration with Areas/Affiliates to support processes and correct use of the applicable funding system. Will also work closely with the external provider team members managing the funding system portal to ensure high standards and quality delivery of contracted services.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate and manage the end-to-end process of delegated external funding requests (donations, grants, and sponsorships)
- Fulfill any reporting requirements related to external funding (e.g. funding oversight), as applicable
- Support the development of global and local solutions for improving processes related to external funding (e.g., projects, SOPs, process innovation, digitalization, change management) and reducing complexity
- Identify and drive process and system related improvements leading to efficiencies and process excellence
- Participate in the implementation and maintenance of systems, procedures, and follow-up tools for projects, as applicable
- Provide relevant trainings to stakeholders and to any new Funding Specialist / service providers
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience, and skills:
- Experience working in a matrix environment and effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Experience working in IT systems for funding or other relevant systems
- Experience preferred with drafting and review of legal documents and processing payment requests
- In-depth knowledge of applicable industry codes (e.g. US, UK & Ireland industry codes of practices)
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, SAP, and ability to learn and use new software. Strong teamwork mentality supporting a positive working culture
- Problem-solving mindset: Foresee problems and take effective measures to avoid them or mitigate their impact; envisage and initiate change; independently identify and solve problems
