Make your mark for patients

We are looking for an External Funding Specialist who is highly motivated, autonomous, and experienced in external funding management, to join us in our External Funding Integrity team, based in our HQ in Brussels (Belgium).

About The Role

The role of the global Funding Specialist is to be the UCB subject matter expert on the funding processes and governance, to guide internal and external stakeholder questions and ensuring appropriate categorization, management and documentation in accordance with UCB and regulatory requirements (including for escalations, audits or inspections).

The role will work in close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to proactively identify best practices, process and system-related improvements needed to ensure high standards of quality and compliance delivery.

Who You’ll Work With

This role includes working in close collaboration with Areas/Affiliates to support processes and correct use of the external funding system, and with the external service provider team members managing the funding system portal to ensure high standards and quality delivery of contracted services.

What You’ll Do

  • Guide internal and external stakeholders and ensure appropriate review process in accordance with UCB and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure external funding opportunities are aligned to UCB strategic priorities, are compliant to UCB standards, regulatory requirements, integrity and ethical
  • Coordinate and manage external funding requests including but not limited to the following: arrangement of review committees, managing the review process, preparation of meeting minutes, engagement with internal and external stakeholders (HCPs, HCOs, Medical, etc), draft of legal documents
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the UCB external funding processes, systems and external stakeholder interactions
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the external funding governance framework (such as Quality Controls, key quality/performance indicators, reporting, escalation)
  • Oversee the performance, daily operational and project management activities of the external service provider,

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • Experience working in a matrix environment and effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Experience in stakeholder management
  • Experience working in IT systems for funding or other relevant systems
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable industry codes (e.g. US, UK & Ireland industry. EFPIA, Canada codes of practices)
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and ability to learn and use new software.
