For a manufacturing customer in West Flanders, I am searching for a freelance Test Manager who will lead and coordinate all testing activities during a critical transition phase from SAP ECC to a greenfield "SAP S/4HANA Grow Public Cloud" solution, in close collaboration with Deloitte.

This includes system testing, integration testing, and especially User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the ERP core and surrounding satellite systems.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full test strategy and execution plan across all test phases (SIT, UAT, regression).
  • Collaborate closely with Deloitte’s test lead during the build phase to align on timelines, deliverables, and roles.
  • Plan and coordinate UAT: define the approach, organize workshops, align with process owners, and ensure resource availability.
  • Ensure test scenarios and scripts are prepared and validated by key users and process leads.
  • Coordinate the preparation of test data in collaboration with functional teams and data migration leads.
  • Manage the defect lifecycle: logging, triage, prioritization, retesting, and closure of issues in collaboration with Deloitte and internal teams.
  • Track and report test progress against milestones, KPIs, and quality gates; escalate risks and delays as needed.
  • Ensure readiness for key decision points including GO/NOGO for go-live.
  • Foster collaboration between IT, business stakeholders, and external partners (Deloitte, 3rd party vendors).
  • Support test automation efforts where relevant (optional but nice-to-have).

Profile

  • Proven experience as Test Manager or QA Lead in large ERP transformation projects.
  • Deep understanding of SAP environments, ideally including S/4HANA Public Cloud and satellite system landscapes.
  • Familiarity with business process testing, data validation, and integration testing.
  • Experience working with system integrators and managing multiple stakeholders in matrix organizations.
  • Strong planning, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Experience with SAP Activate methodology.
  • Knowledge of test management tools (e.g., SAP Cloud ALM, Azure DevOps, JIRA).
  • Familiarity with manufacturing industry processes is an asset.
