Global Market Access Director, Vaccines, RSV

This role will preferably be based in Philadelphia, US or Wavre, Belgium but can also be based at other strategic locations on a case-by- case basis.

Pricing and Market Access (P&MA) are key to maximizing the value of our products for patients, healthcare systems and for the company. This is a truly exciting opportunity for the role of Global Market Access Director, Vaccines, as part of the RSV leadership team.

The vision of the Global Pricing and Market Access team is to be the industry leader in our ability to maximise patient access to life changing vaccines and medicines. To do this we externally engage payers to fully recognise the value of our assets and internally act as a strategic leader to increase portfolio lifecycle value by delivering innovative solutions. In the Global Market Access Director role for RSV you will leverage your clinical understanding, expertise of Evidence Based Medicine, alongside deep global payer knowledge and competitive insights to shape the Pricing & Access strategy (in collaboration with the Vaccines Strategic Pricing Director), evidence generation, and value communication tools & materials.

In this role you will:

  • The ideal candidate will deliver updates to the Global Pricing and Market Access Strategy & the Payer Value Proposition, and continue to roll-out tools, materials and training to support LOCs in their Access planning, activities and engagements to ensure optimization in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
  • Addressing reimbursement and pricing potential for key markets including the U.S, Japan and Germany, in collaboration with Pricing and Access colleagues in regions and LOCs.
  • Obtaining and communicating global payer and market access considerations (e.g. from market research, LOCs feed-in) contributing to evidence generation planning and delivery, Pricing and Access strategy refinement and delivery of tools and materials to support LOCs in Access planning and delivery.
  • Incorporate Payer insights and Access expectations into Global forecasting exercises, in collaboration with regional counterparts and Vaccines Strategic Pricing Director.
  • Deliver updated Integrated Asset Plan Work Package 9 and Market Access Plan accounting for data, competitor and environment evolution.
  • Collaborating with other functions such as VEO, Strategic Insights, Government Affairs, Global Commercial, Global Medical Affairs and complimentary Region & LOC Functions, to ensure solid understanding of global payer markets and emerging stakeholders in the reimbursement area.
  • Represent Payers and Access function/considerations within Global Brand team, VCT etc.
  • Internally collaborating and managing external partners/vendors to deliver workplan.
  • Leading project management with regards to purchasing support, opening of POs; ensuring appropriate documentation is in place in line with company procedures and storage of pertinent documents to assigned projects.

Why you?

Required qualifications and skills:

  • Degree Qualified preferably in Science/Medicine/Business/Health Policy/Health Economics discipline
  • 5 years’ experience in Pricing and Market Access.
  • Strong clinical and disease area & vaccines access pathway knowledge.
  • Experience in developing and managing market access strategies globally, regionally or in key markets locally, ideally with Vaccines access experience.
  • Knowledge of pricing policy & regulations and healthcare in key markets, ideally with vaccines-specific expertise
  • Understanding of regulatory agency requirements or policies that govern market approval, and the impact on reimbursement decisions
  • Considerable experience in a similar leadership role within Pharmaceuticals
  • Very good skills to lead and develop personnel.

Preferred qualifications and skills:

  • MBA/Masters in scientific or economic area, Health Economics
  • Strong ability to influence and clearly communicate across a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Successful in-country payer engagement and negotiation experience in priority markets (US, China, Japan, Germany)
  • Strong leadership, intrapersonal, critical thinking, and analytical skills to work with a variety of groups in ensuring that the strategic direction for market access and pricing is in balance with the market as well as corporate goals
  • Strong presentation and writing skills.
