Description

This role contributes, under the supervision of the Human Resources Director to the development of the organization in respect of its culture, values, policies and work regulations and ethics. The role is instrumental in maintaining and foster a positive social climate across the organization through an effective partnership and social dialogue with all our partners, internally and externally both in Belgium and the Netherlands, in a changing environment.

In addition, this role will play a role in leading key projects and initiatives around employee well-being, corporate social responsibility, employer branding, HR communication and workplace environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead or contribute to the management of all areas of HR intervention by ensuring compliance with corporate governance and policy;
  • Advise and coach managers and employees about HR policy, labor regulations and provide related-guidance
  • Participate in the design and development of HR policies and programs in partnership with relevant stakeholders, including workers councils in both countries
  • Coordinate and participate actively in the negotiations with the various representative bodies of the personnel:
  • Monitor social law developments related to the national legislative framework and the collective agreement that may have an impact on the company
  • Schedule, share and organize the different mandatory meetings with the employee representative bodies (works council; Health, safety, pension committee, Unions as relevant, etc.)
  • Prepare the company social evolutions by formalizing proposals in line with the company’s strategy, its collective agreement and the labor law
  • lnform the various employee representative bodies of the company of further regulatory development projects that may impact its operational and business activity
  • Define a communication and negotiation strategy to facilitate the acceptance of change by the social partners and employees
  • Facilitate meetings with the social partners and negotiate with the objective of reaching an agreement that will become a new social norm within the company
  • Ensure the proper implementation of negotiated agreements and communicate with the social partners on the progress of their operations
  • lnitiate, encourage and foster social dialogue within the company
  • Respond to employees wishing to obtain clarification on individual or collective social rights
  • Communicate formally and institutionally on changes having an impact on labor law or collective agreement within the company
  • Edit templates of basic documentation for individual and collective litigation cases
  • Manage external and internal audits on social regulations (data collection, preparation meetings, follow-up action, communication, etc)
  • Collaborates across the HR operating model (COE’s, People Services) to articulate business needs and partners in delivering solutions in ways that bring value across the enterprise
  • Defines and leads change management efforts to ensure delivery of organizational solutions, programs and deliverables
  • Takes a leadership role in creating a respectful and inclusive work environment while role-modeling the BMS Behaviors and values and fostering cultural diversity.
  • Builds and develops strong relationships within the broader HR community in order to effectively influence key stakeholders in HR Operations and HR Centers of excellence
  • Has a leading or consulting role in some ongoing and future projects/initiatives in relation to evolving the post-pandemic work environment and employee well-being
  • Is the responsible person for all HR related communication and announcement
Requirements
  • Candidate should have a BA/BS Degree, Advanced Degree preferred, and 6+ years of HR relevant business experience
  • Proven success in working effectively at senior management levels to impact and influence decision making
  • Strong experience in leading end to end collective dismissal process in partnership with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in leading change management efforts including defining change and communication plans
  • Strong verbal and written communication command in both French and English
  • Proven experience in working effectively within a matrixed environment and building alignment in a cross functional and cross geography team environment
  • Deep knowledge of labor laws in both Belgium and Netherlands
  • Expert in change management
  • Strong experience in partnering with social partners in an influential way
  • Commuting across Belgium and Netherlands is required, up to 40%
  • French language a must, Dutch language a strong asset
  • Strong ethics and adequation with the BMS value is required
