More information

As Inventory Planning Analyst you are responsible for the stock target setting and data analytics development within the Inventory Planning team.

Taking an end-to-end approach means there is a strong focus on collaboration with Logistics, Supply Chain, Customer Services, Sales & Marketing teams in regions and HQ.

Next to the target setting the you will define, develop and implement the tools required to enable the Inventory Optimization initiatives.

The stock targets are set all across the network. As such, you are responsible for the calculation, master data maintenance, network simulation, and identifying improvement opportunities.

This includes the definition of the transportation lanes, which have to be aligned with the Logistics team ensuring the most efficient distribution of the goods while maintaining the required service level.

The stock targets are driving the Supply Plan, which is coming from EU factories, and by importing from overseas Bridgestone locations as well as off-take collaboration with competitors. Hence, the key task for the Inventory Planning team is process that drives:

  • Ideal stock target definition
  • Tactical or pre-build stock consideration for the Tactical horizon
  • Define the volumes to be pushed from MDCs, and set the targets at the ELC/RDC so they are pulled accordingly thought the DRP cycle.

One of the keys to success with Inventory Optimization is to digitalize the team’s activities and develop the required toolset.

The goal is to transfer from data crunching to decision-making, and to automate non-value added tasks. You will also need to consolidate and exchange data across different systems, people, and functions; this data then needs to be turned to insights to:
  • Give visibility throughout the organization
  • Feed into the Inventory PDCA process
  • Allow optimization opportunities (including machine learning applications)

You will be working closely with the Center of Excellence for Data & Analytics and will be growing your digital and data analytics skills.

As you will be taking the lead on the inventory plan, and propose actions to the different stakeholders, you interact with many functions:
  • Regional Planners to ensure the right level of stock target, by reviewing items where targets are not met as expected, and to support regional improvement initiatives
  • Distribution Planning team to align the stock targets into DRP system and transportation parameters in IO
  • Operational and Tactical Supply team to define and agree on stock target (which include pre-build and tactical stock based on the supply bottlenecks)
  • Logistic team to support the evolution of the network requirement
  • Regional Primary teams to manage the limitations of the Manufacturing Distribution Center surface space
  • Customer Services and P2P team to understand the order management criteria and its exceptions
  • Sales, Demand Planning and Marketing Product Team to identify actions to keep OE SK, SMDS, 2A stock at lowest possible level

You support the Regions in new ideas and projects related to improving customer satisfaction and improving availability. This can include Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) or any other alternative ways of managing the stocks.
