Working in close collaboration with the Regional and Country Janssen commercial business, the FEL will provide flexible and focused procurement support to high priority business initiatives, where solutions could come from multiple procurement categories. As such, the FEL will need to build relationships with regional category leads (RCLs) and country and GS procurement resources to help define and implement solutions meeting these Janssen commercial business needs. This role will be responsible for building strong connections with the regional senior business partners and translate their business requirement into globally aligned strategies that will enable business growth, through spend and category management, supplier management and innovation. This role will also plan and direct activities that ensure de-risking, but also build J&J reputation and equity. Finally, this role will include both hands-on aspects in implementing some projects and coordinating the delivery of projects through the wider procurement team, as appropriate. This role will also support the Janssen Commercial BEL in communications with regional business partners and in driving the Janssen business agenda with regional and country procurement. Guided by the leadership imperatives, the expectations for the role include: Connect: Develop positive relationship with business partners and country/regional/global functional teams, developing a deep understanding of the Janssen business, identifying key insights to enable value delivery across the enterprise. In parallel, strengthen external relationships, participation in industry forums and proactively identify relevant expertise and capabilities that will enable growth and deliver advantage for Janssen. Shape: Exhibit learning agility in using industry insights and supplier expertise in crafting solutions and recommendations that addresses internal business challenges, enabling innovation, efficiency and effectiveness. Grow: Provide leadership to country functional teams and lead a regional agenda on strategic and tactical initiatives in line with the business needs and requirements. Ensure achievement of targets set on financial results, innovative solution implementations, service performance, quality as well as compliance and risk mitigation Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities Develop and drive the Procurement vision for, with and through the stakeholder community, ensuring full alignment between Procurement and the stakeholder community Engage with Business Key Stakeholders with P&L responsibility to drive business planning and major decision making across all relevant category families Deliver on financial, service, reliability, quality, innovation, and growth commitments Identify business demand requirements and partner with Category Leads to deliver annual value improvements and drives competitive advantage Continuously monitors the needs (short and long term) of the business to make sure their requirements are met Aims to resolve issues that may impact the Global Procurement organization and promptly escalate the ones that cannot be resolved Preferred location of the role: Beerse (Belgium) or High Wycombe (UK). Other EMEA Locations may be considered Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Broad-based understanding of business operations and practices and core Procurement areas of focus (Spend Management: Category Management and Supplier Management). Strong leadership, communication, influencing, collaboration and talent development skills are required Able to prioritize requests, and propose effective cost/customer service alternatives when necessary. Ability to show judgment in developing new approaches and resolving issues Customer Orientation (building and maintaining strong relationships with J&J senior Management Ability to show strategic thinking Strong project and change management skills Strong Business Acumen Strong verbal and written communication skill with ability to confidently present complex information Ability to continuously improve the organization Preferred Qualifications Experienced professional with business experience in multiple roles across a variety of functional specialties including general management, R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain or a Technical filed with at least 5+ years within a Procurement environment Strong level of proficiency with core Procurement skills (e.g., supplier management and performance, supply market analysis, Category Management, Procurement Excellence, etc.) Strong level of credibility with internal customers, and with the supplier community Strong influencing skills with ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of stakeholders (e.g., businesses, Procurement LT, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain); has "presence" Strong people management and development skills Successfully lead cross-functional teams Strong business acumen Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external environment, while ensuring the organization is able to effectively and efficiently move through transitions Primary Location Belgium-Antwerp-Beerse- Organization Janssen Pharmaceutica N.V.
