Junior Researcher Operations & Supply Chain Management

We are looking for a Junior Researcher in Operations & Supply Chain Management.


Your mission

  • Conduct research, in collaboration with faculty and other researchers on the adoption of digital technologies in the supply chain, in particular on the impact of digital technologies on people in the Supply Chain. This includes more specifically:
    • Plan and perform research projects,
    • Perform Desk research: e.g., finding and synthesising relevant publications,
    • Collect data/field research (survey, secondary data, contacting research, partners…),
    • Analyse data.
  • Disseminate knowledge by writing papers, reports and articles, social media, and present research findings to both business and academic audiences.
  • Provide support for the activities of our Center for People in the Smart Digitised Supply Chain.
    • Organise workshops,
    • Build and maintain relationships with members,
    • Provide support where needed.
  • Provide support for the school-wide activities in digital transformation and digitalisation.
  • Provide support for our operations & supply chain teaching activities.

You

  • Obtained a master’s degree (preferably with an economic, data sciences or engineering background) with strong grades.
  • Have a research mindset and an affinity with the topics of supply chain management and digitalisation.
  • Have great analytic skills and want to conduct research which is relevant for both the academic and the business worlds.
  • Are customer-oriented and open to building and maintaining relationships with clients.
  • Are very fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Will be based on our campus in Ghent, Brussels, or Leuven in combination with your home office.
