At Decathlon Belgium, we are looking for the next highly skilled and proactive Legal & Compliance Specialistto join our legal team. This pivotal role will ensure our operations are fully compliant with legal and regulatory frameworks, champion our ethics and compliance program across the organization and manage commercial contract.

Your Mission

Ethics & Compliance Management

  • Monitor regulatory developments to ensure full compliance with the law and the implementation of an adapted compliance program (Sustainability, business ethics, human rights, GDPR, etc.)
  • Manage specific Ethics & Compliance topics within your area of responsibility.
  • Support the establishment of a robust risk assessment program, focusing on corruption risk, code of conduct, anti-corruption initiatives, whistleblowing, third-party assessment, and accounting procedures.
  • Maintain close contact with the Group Compliance team and regional/local referents.

Awareness & Investigation

  • Conduct thorough compliance analyses and proactively identify potential risks.
  • Investigate and resolve any alerts that could endanger Ethics and Compliance topics.
  • Spread awareness regarding the Ethics & Compliance program among teammates.
  • Train local teammates on the Ethics & Compliance program.
  • Report to local and/or Decathlon United Compliance team all alerts concerning corruption, fraud, or influence peddling.
  • Alert local and/or group Compliance team regarding any breach of the Ethics & Compliance program.

Commercial Legal Support

  • Discuss and negotiate commercial contracts and provide legal expertise for company projects.
  • Draw up standard agreements and ensure their adaptation to evolving needs and legal frameworks.
  • Handle a variety of legal issues and disputes, collaborating closely with external lawyers when necessary.

Job Profile

As a Legal and Compliance Specialist, you are a hands-onand autonomousperson, always ready to contribute as a dedicated team player. You are recognized for your excellent oraland written communication skills.

Your strong analytical skillsallow you to dissect challenges, and you consistently demonstrate initiativesand flexibilityin finding innovative solutions.

With good personal organization, you are able to work on several projects simultaneously.

Also, you have

  • a master’s degree in Law.
  • at least5 to 10 years of legal practice, either as a company lawyer, legal interim manager, or as a lawyer with a specific interest in compliance topics.
  • good command of Dutch, French, and English. You can communicate and collaborate across diverse teams.
