This position is based in Bastogne, Belgium.

About The Role

For our subsidiary AAK-Bastogne (phospholipids extraction plant), we are looking for a Maintenance and Project Manager. It’s a hands-on manage, in a multidisciplinary role, in a small-scale factory. In the context of a start-up business with currently 8 employees, expected to extend to 10-12 persons over the next three, you will combine the role of Maintenance Lead and Project Manager.

Responsibilities

As Maintenance and Project Manager your main tasks and responsibilities will be:

• As Maintenance Lead you will be in charge of reviewing the maintenance needs, develop the maintenance strategy and action plan and give a close follow up of the plant technician
• Occasionally you will back-up or replace the maintenance technician during absences and for more complicated interventions. Possibly with the support of external contractors.
• As Project Manager you will be the project lead for engineering and civil projects, possibly supported by an external engineering bureau.
• You will closely work together with the Plant Manager for the Project Definition and Work Breakdown Structure.
• You will plan and coordinate the implementation works, deal with the contractors and supervise the wharf and works. You will follow up the budget and invoices.
• You organise and validate the commissioning of the installations. You will report to the Plant Manager.
  

About You

To be successful in the role you need:

• You are capable and willing to take up a wide variety of tasks in a context of a small-scale organisation where not all supporting services are yet present. Hence you are flexible and self-confident.
• You can enjoy working in an industrial environment, dealing with the challenges of a 3-shifts continuous production environment.
• You are interested in process technology and the related equipment and willing to continuously acquire further expertise in this field.
• You have the maturity to lead people.
  

Qualification and skills

• Ideally, you hold a MSc in Industrial science or a BSc in Process Technology, but we will consider any proven experience in comparable context. (a secondary school education in a technical field is a plus)
• You have hands-on ánd management experience in maintenance.
• You have experience in project management (or been part of more than one project team)
• You have a feeling for food manufacturing (food safety, hygiene, GMP)
• You are fluent in French and have a good working knowledge of English. Dutch is a plus.
• You are living max. 1 hour travel from Bastogne or prepared to move into the region
