About The Role
As part of the Natural Emulsifiers team you will implement and improve the efficient use of process technologies in existing and new production facilities in AAK globally, in close cooperation with Global Engineering.
This position requires a scientific and innovative leadership style and a pragmatic approach to balance functional product and technical requirements with intellectual property, patents and regulatory compliances. Next to this he/she should be able to develop and provide processing knowledge to internal and external AAK stakeholders.
Responsible for the implementation of new technologies or the improvement of existing technologies. Support and drive strengthening of AAK co-development capabilities within the Natural Emulsifiers business unit
Responsibilities
- Implement new projects and modifications to existing process plants – process design, equipment specifications, project management, plant commissioning.
- Work as part of a team to develop plans and specifications for new equipment on existing sites or on Greenfield projects.
- Evaluate supplier quotations. Support sites during project execution and commissioning.
- Support to AAK sites on production, engineering and quality issues
- Support to AAK business areas when required
- Plant optimisation – provide assistance to AAK sites to optimise performance re capacity, yields, operating cost.
- Develop standards for best practice installation and operation of oil processing plants
- Trials and recommendation on process aids for different applications
- Acquisitions – you may be required to work as part of a team to evaluate potential acquisitions for AAK
- Providing leadership and strategic drive for the application knowledge of the Lecithin segment in close coordination with the BU management team.
- Prepare, review and coordinate projects, according to established schedules and costs and ensure that the company standards of quality are met.
- Develop a range of processing capabilities and solutions to deliver against customer needs and market lead insights, utilising industry best practises including project management technical expertise, effective communication and good financial skills
- Working closely together with global and regional AAK teams to ensure global coverage
- Participate in external trade- and science-based initiatives and proactively assess regulatory and policy developments in the field of Lecithin
- Build effective networks internally and externally to enhance processing delivery capabilities
- University degree in Chemical Engineering or similar
- 3- 5 years of experience within vegetable oil / Emulsifiers industry
- Knowledge of Lecithin and oils and fats is a strong advantage
- Strong skills in project management
- Process plant design, commissioning & optimization
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
- Comfortable working in a global business environment is a must including potential frequent travel up to 30%
