To strengthen our European Marketing team, we are looking to fill the position of European Marketing Lead Rheumatology.


As the Marketing Lead Rheumatology you like to work in an environment where you can:

Demonstrate Business Acumen: strong and current business understanding and dynamics required in this fast-growing / fast-changing specialty pharmaceutical environment and ability to develop innovative solutions to scale and grow a business.

Setting Strategy: excellent judgment, integrity, decisiveness, and the ability to provide and communicate the businesses strategic vision to external and internal audiences. An independent thinker who can manage ambiguity and devise solutions when no other obvious or clear path exists.

Executing for Results: high entrepreneurial spirit; action / results driven and successful track record in translating business goals into performance objectives and driving performance by holding the team accountable.

Leadership: Strong leadership and influencing skills, to co-ordinate and drive implementation of the cross functional and diverse marketing work across Europe. The successful candidate will also support the area’s launch preparations, being focused in a highly competitive and evolving segment of the market.

Building Relationships and Networking: Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills as well as strong ability to engage with people at all levels of the organization and the external world.


As a European Marketing Lead Rheumatology you will contribute by;

Being accountable for all rheumatology marketing solutions (projects and activities) developed and performed at EU level, and the rollout to the EU areas.

Lead on collecting and providing bottom up European insights to inform global strategy and positioning development in Rheumatology to ensure local needs are represented and served.

Contribute to the European 10 year plan EU 10-year plan, jointly with the rest of the region´s Immunology products team; to define 3 year priorities and annual marketing objectives at EU level in close collaboration with the 8 EU areas.

Contribute to EU and areas launch planning and overall organizational readiness

Lead adaption of global Immunology and Rheum strategy to ensure EU relevance by coordinating with EU colleagues to create an integrated Regional Patient Value Brand Plan.

Be a driver in UCB´s digital business transformation for E2E omnichannel marketing.


Interested? For this position you´ll need the following education, experience and skills;


Background needs to be commercial, i.e both marketing and sales with either multi country experience or having worked at both individual country and regional/global level.

Minimum 15 years of experience in the pharma/biotech pharma/biotech industry within specialty pharmaceuticals with recent years in senior role. Recent Rheumatology expertise and experience is essential Experience from multiple biologics and MoAs is an extra merit.

Strong technical expertise across the development and commercialization spectrum

Proven track record of successful launches

Solid experience of working cross functionally in a complex matrix organization across local and regional structures.

Comes from a strong development heritage and, preferably, will have experience managing across the full range of commercial functions (market access, product launch, marketing and commercialization), and will bring an understanding of “what is essential” to drive the development program forward and the establishment of novel business


International mindset is a must for the role.

For location, proximity to Bruxelles, Belgium is preferable but not a must.
