Make your mark for patients

We are looking for a Operational Excellence Specialist who is dynamic and dedicated to join our Quality Control (QC) team based on UCB campus located in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium.

About The Role

This role is pivotal in driving operational performance improvements and fostering a culture of excellence through Lean - 6 Sigma principles. You will lead the pursuit of operational excellence and contribute to the development and enhancement of business processes within QC.

Who You’ll Work With

You will report to the Head of QC Support & Laboratory systems and collaborate closely with various departments. As an Operational Excellence Specialist, , working alongside department heads and the OE community to achieve strategic goals.

What You’ll Do:

  • Improve operational performance using Lean - 6 Sigma principles, deploy the Operational Excellence model, and achieve operational goals.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and improving QC OE business processes in alignment with business requirements.
  • Promote safety and environmental initiatives within QC.
  • Ensure compliance with UCB Policies and Procedures, manage compliance and business risks, and maintain data quality in OE Information Management Systems.
  • Deploy strategic alignment, manage Balanced Score Cards, collect and manage improvement ideas, support teams in achieving objectives, and lead OE initiatives.
  • Train and coach QC employees on OE tools and processes, promote Gemba Walks, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Interested: For this role, we are looking for the following education, experience, and skills:

  • Master’s degree in chemistry, biology, engineering, or pharma.
  • Up to 5 years of technical experience in relevant fields and 3 years of full-time Lean management experience.
  • Expertise in Lean Management and basic 6 Sigma (Green Belt certification is a plus).
  • Proficiency in standard PC applications and specific systems like Quickscore and Veeva Vault Quality.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and facilitation abilities.
  • Fluent in French and basic English.
