The company

Elia is the operator of the Belgian high-voltage transmission grid (380 kV to 30 kV) and is responsible for developing and maintaining the grid, providing users with access to it and controlling energy flows. The Elia group is a team of 2,000 professionals who have the task of ensuring the continuity of electricity supplies in Belgium.

As owner and operator of electricity transmission networks in Belgium and Germany Elia has an important role and mission in supporting and implementing Europe’s energy and climate policy.

Function


  • You will be closely involved in the planning, organisation, supervision and follow-up of offshore maintenance work.


  • You will go offshore on a regular basis.


  • You will be partly responsible for managing our offshore facilities, including asset management, consisting of development, implementation and monitoring throughout the entire life cycle of the facility, taking into account technical, financial and risk-related aspects. You will do this by:


o Defining concepts and ensuring their implementation in standards;



o Defining, implementing, monitoring and adjusting maintenance policy;



o Defining risk mitigation plans;



o Creating and managing fault repair preparedness plans;



o Ensuring and supplying the appropriate technical expertise.



  • You will prepare and review procedures, method statements and safety documents.


  • You will contribute fully to the development of our offshore organisation.


  • You will perform the relevant risk analysis and management for offshore work.


  • From your base in the Offshore Assets Department, you will support O&M-related issues in future offshore projects and the further development of our HV infrastructure.


  • You will lead or actively participate in various projects and working groups.

Your Profile


  • You have a degree in civil or industrial engineering, or equivalent experience.


  • You have a few years of experience in a similar position. Experience with offshore projects and/or offshore O&M would be an asset.


  • You have strong organisational skills and are stress-resistant. You can work independently.


  • You have a highly analytical mind, strong technical knowledge and good problem-solving skills.


  • You speak fluent Dutch and English and have a good basic knowledge of French. German would be an asset.


  • You are an effective and assertive team player.


  • You are flexible and willing to carry out work offshore.


  • You have a thorough knowledge of and interest in computer and IT applications
