The ATKORE Vergokan Group, with headquarters in Oudenaarde, Belgium is market leader in the production and sale of standard and customized solutions in cable support systems for applications in industry and building services. We are a strongly growing company that is currently mainly active in Benelux, France, Germany, Austria.

We are currently looking for a passionate Product Development Manager – team leader to take our brand to the next level.

Key responsibilities

• Reporting to the Operations Director at Vergokan – The Product Development Manager is responsible for the entire product portfolio, development and the product development team.
• This includes managing products through their life cycles, developing and maintaining roadmaps, gathering and prioritizing all initiatives and development initiatives within the team.
• The Product Development Manager will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Codes and Standards and Sales to deliver an end-user driven innovative product portfolio.
• The Product Development Manager is expected to become the Cable Management -Vergokan subject matter expert within the business. Responsible for a strong collaboration with the Product Manager in understanding the customer’s current and future requirements and the competitive environment. Additionally the Product Development Manager will be a strong empoweree for his Product Development Team.

• Taking a Product Development Team with young potentials to a higher level
• Collaborate with the Global Director of Product Management and GMs of the included Strategic Business Unit’s (SBU) to define product strategies and product roadmaps featuring growth via the introduction of new product and service offerings.
• Work across the organization to drive new product development via Atkore’s stage gate process.
• Define and prioritize product development investments with leadership team.
• Assist in developing launch strategy to achieve revenue targets
• Drive to rationalize and globalize our offerings
• Develop and implement budgets; work collaboratively with the GM’s to develop, evaluate and monitor strategies & profitability through strategic and tactical price management
• Manages product life cycle and develop plans for all phases
• Educate, train, and develop our front-line sales team (inside and outside), national network of sales agents, and select distributors, contractors, and OEM’s

Education/Qualifications/Skills

• Degree educated (ideally Business and Management or Engineering)
• Business fluency in English and Dutch (written and spoken) is a must
• Strong people management experience in taking a team to a higher level
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Product Development Management
• Technical background and understanding of our products portfolio, ideally working with electrical industry
• Experience within metal manufacturing, construction, cable management or other mechanical process production is desirable
• Demonstrated success defining and launching products and managing product categories
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Power-Point, Outlook, CRM systems and able to learn JDE and MAPICS ERP systems
• Lives at commutable distance from Oudenaarde, Belgium and willing to travel occasionally internationally
