Honeywell Thermal Solutions Vilvoorde is looking for a Product Engineer.

You will be a part of the global Application engineering team, responsible for driving innovative projects with customers and testing thermal solutions in the application labs of Vilvoorde-Belgium and Indianapolis-US. HTS is working on several product- and solution-related technologies to achieve Carbon neutrality for thermal appliances. This includes the development of burners capable to fire renewable fuels like hydrogen, synthetic gases and biofuels.

Tasks

Responsibilities:
  • Work in a team environment and maintain compliance to a structured product development process with accurate planning and execution.
  • Understand and be proficient in the use of engineering documentation, change processes and business systems Perform engineering design calculations.
  • Determine materials of construction required to fit the performance needs of new parts/products that will perform in high-temperature furnaces and equipment.
  • Good understanding of mechanical concepts, design principles and processes.
  • Understanding of the basic performance principles of combustion air fans and blowers.
  • Understanding of mechanisms that contribute to air pollutant emissions and ways to reduce or eliminate them.
  • Product engineering of burners manufactured in the Vilvoorde plant: maintain BOMs, set up Variant Configurators (SAP), define local suppliers, make work instructions for manufacturing etc.
  • Drive Value Engineering projects for existing products to improve performance.
  • Coordination with lab resources, ability to create detailed test plans with specific test criteria and due dates.
  • Create/approve technical product literature for ongoing product maintenance.
  • Work with other cross functions to determine sources for component procurement, recommended manufacturing processes for components, communicate critical quality features, determine manufacturing methods, etc.
  • Strong communication skills required at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to hold people accountable in order to drive results and projects to completion.
  • Support sales on-field problems as required.
Requirements

Basic qualifications:
  • Master or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering: (Electro)-Mechanical engineering, Engineering Technology, or Physical Sciences (Chemistry or Physics).
  • First relevant experience with industrial products and applications.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills are required. Proficiency in Dutch and French is an asset.
  • The candidate should have:

  • Possess strong problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
  • Prefered experience working with combustion products and/or burners
