Ideal Standard is a leading manufacturer of bathroom products in Europe and MENA, providing a broad range of branded products for residential and non-residential end-markets in more than 20 countries. We manufacture products for all of the major product categories in the bathroom products market with an annual turnover of around 725 Mio and we believe our comprehensive offering differentiates us from our competitors.

We enjoy leading market positions in many of the largest bathroom products markets in Europe and MENA. We sell our products under a series of well-known international and national brands including Ideal Standard, JADO, Porcher, Armitage Shanks, Ceramica Dolomite and Vidima. As of 31 December 2019, we operated 14 manufacturing plants across Europe and in Egypt, and we employ almost 8,700 people across our business.

We are currently recruiting an experienced Product Manager to work on our public washroom product portfolio and translate needs of our customers into innovative products and/or services. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, tech-savvy product manager with excellent communication skills.

The role reports to the Product Director for Non-Residential Fittings.

You will:

Develop and execute the dedicated public washroom fittings category strategy securing healthy growth by:

  • Gathering insights from customer discussions and develop these through our innovation process into successful concepts.
  • Leading NPI projects from category perspective through the stage gate process to launch
  • Understanding the public washroom fittings market needs, collaborating with marketing and local markets.
  • Managing your product portfolio from a sales, profit and lifecycle/complexity point of view in close collaboration with the fittings cross functional teams.
  • Further develop the vision to attract the right talent and customers.

LAUNCH WITH IMPACT

  • Work with local subsidiaries to facilitate and accelerate new product launches.
  • Support developing exciting and innovative marketing plans to help set their category apart from the rest
  • Work with external partners, agencies and suppliers.

  • Write detailed briefings to align with design, R&D and marketing agencies (e.g. for launch/communication concepts).

MANAGE PERFORMANCE & PROFITABILITY

  • Benchmark your products against competitors, manage costs and come up with innovative ways to improve product value.
  • Analyze and interpret data points on sell-in and sell-through to optimize effectiveness of the Category of products you manage.

SUPPORT THE IOT PLAN

  • Develop the Public Washroom IoT product & services offering – as part of the cross functional team
  • Help to gradually expand the IoT infrastructure by understanding the best fit technology through benchmarking and formulating a clear recommendation
  • Defining use cases, steer and follow-up the implementation through hard- and software
  • Develop strong insights based on data leading to new business, new features and benefits
  • Develop the product and the solution further, bringing it into new verticals

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in IT, electronics, engineering, marketing, economics or business
  • Strong interest in technology & innovation. IoT-savvy.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a corporate environment, in a technical product business
  • Experience with IoT/connected devices is a significant advantage!
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English – any other language proficiency is a plus
  • Willingness to travel to Wittlich (DE) on a regular basis
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to motivate and work with others in a highly collaborative environment
  • Entrepreneurial and hands-on mentality, resilient and capable to adapt to changing situations
  • Enthusiasm and energy (the “fun” factor )
