The purpose of the role

Griffith Foods is looking for a Production Cell Manager Mixing to drive our long-range plan making Griffith Foods, the industry leader for the chosen categories and to create an area of operational excellence through continuous improvement of process and people (GPE - Griffith Production Excellence program). As a Production Cell Manager of the Mixing department, you have a key role to play in our factory, as you lead the contribution of your unit teams to ensure the Factory delivers superior products in a safe way at the right cost and on time.

You Will Be Responsible For

Responsibilities
  • driving the long-range plan of your area
  • managing and ownership of the daily operations and ensure continuity of the Mixing department, ensuring successful execution of planned production schedule via the team leaders.
  • working with different internal stakeholders, supervising the production team leads and backup team leads mixing and the team lead in the weekend. You will report to the Operations Manager. You will work closely with Safety, Quality, the technical department, Planning and HR.
  • working closely with external stakeholders like service contractors, consultants, etc.
  • building and realizing yearly action plan and priorities on the KPI’s on safety, quality, cost, delivery, people motivation and environment.
  • coaching your team towards operational excellence through best practices and manufacturing standards. You lead operationally and develop the team on both functional competencies & attitudes to create high performing teams. The management of their team members including recruitment, training & development, PDR’s, absence, grievance and disciplinary procedures.
  • Initiating and steering continuous improvement methodology and taking the lead in GPE focused improvement initiatives within the Mixing department.
  • Ensuring compliance of all health and safety, environmental and food hygiene safety standards.
  • Being the champion in using the operating production management system RedZone and taking the necessary initiatives to support, finetune at shop floor level.
  • Ensuring service levels are agreed and maintained. Manage new product introduction within your department from an operational perspective.
  • Taking the lead in the (daily) production follow up meetings, steer the action plans and report to the operational management. Follow up of key activities and KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) of the Mixing area.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor degree or equivalent by experience
  • Typically, this position would require a minimum of 5 years’ experience in production.
  • Good knowledge of Dutch and English
  • Successful first experience in coaching a team within a production environment
  • Strong communication, leading, influencing and coaching skills
  • Experience with TPM, Lean and/or project management is a plus
  • An operational background / level of experience with a proven track record.
  • Good analytical skills, to evaluate data of technical and operational parameters and confident in decision making
  • Computer skills: ERP, MS Office
  • Team player, constructive and positive approach, well organized with a proactive attitude with flexible “can do” mentality
