Job Purpose and Impact

This position is responsible for the sugar risk management for Cargill Cocoa and Chocolate Europe with a primary goal of serving our 9 European chocolate plants and maximizing the PnL.

Within a well-defined set of risk limits you are required to decide upon the optimal position (futures NY11 + EU cash market), manage the operational margins and guarantee a smooth running pipeline in order to maximize the book’s PnL.

Key Accountabilities
  • Risk Management and PnL creation by sourcing for 9 European sugar production locations
  • Build up a proper supply and demand analysis. Understand the dynamics of the EU sugar market.
  • Collect market intelligence on crops, competition and consumption
  • Networking with market and build good relationships with counterparts.
  • Create PnL on NY11
  • Provide market updates to the sales organization and customers
  • Checking and approving PnL/Position reports
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree
  • Several years of commodity trading experience.
  • High level of risk appetite
  • Be able to build an internal network within the business unit
  • Self-starting / entrepreneurial
  • Good knowledge of excel/VBA
  • Fluent in English
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional European languages (French/German/Dutch).
  • Experience in sugar futures (3-5 years) or having a sugar market network
