Job Description

Functieomschrijving

The access network operations team and its operational partners guarantee the quality and continuous availability of the Telenet access network elements and services. In addition, we provide a transparent implementation of new services and features within our area.

While the access network is currently mainly a DOCSIS cable network, we are also onboarding FTTH networks. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Service Reliability Engineer.

Tasks
  • Ensure reliability, quality and maintainability of the access network platforms, services, CPEs.
  • Introduce new technologies, features, processes in co-operation with engineering and other teams. Assist in platform validation.
  • Act as an expert within the access operations domain.
  • Implement automation, tooling, and optimizations.
  • You analyze customer, and network problems and correct them if necessary or supplement them with relevant info to support other teams or the manufacturer.
  • 24/7 on-call duty.
Profile
  • You have a high-level qualification (Master/Engineering/Licentiate level) in a technical field (ICT, telecom, electronics) or equivalent experience
  • You are very analytical and solution minded.
  • You are proud of your big sense of responsibility and customer focus.
  • You work accurate by yourself and in team.
  • You are organizationally strong, assertive, and communicative.
  • You have an ’automate first’ mindset. You know on or more scripting languages (phython, bash, etc,)
  • You are prepared to work outside office hours a couple of times per month, and to take part in an on-call rotation.
  • You have a good understanding of network and fiber access technologies (IP, XG-PON, XGS-PON, FTTH)
  • You have had at least 4 years hand-on experience in a similar position.
  • Experience with Nokia Altiplano Access controller, Nokia Lightspan and OLTs in general are a plus.
