Job Purpose and Impact

The Technical Account Manager Customer Innovations Dairy and Plant-based Dairy Alternatives focusses on developing vegetable oils/fats oil solutions (e.g. in applications such as creams, cheeses, drinks, frozen desserts, dairy powders) while being a fully embedded member of the Technical Services R&D Team Europe.

The Customer Innovation Manager is the primary technical contact for the category’s customers helping them to achieve growth targets and supporting development of new projects, creating more profitable business for Cargill. You identify customer needs and new opportunities, start and drive technical projects to develop new solutions in the Dairy and plant based alternative category.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop strong customer relationships at key accounts.
  • Conveys Global Edible Oils Solutions‘ strategic and category targets to provide customers with new solutions.
  • Help track and coordinate applications development work, and solve complex customer issues related to the development of the new solutions
  • Participate with sales and marketing leaders on customer segmentation and satisfaction, account planning, and the use of salesforce.com.
  • Support the application center, ensuring a safe working environment, food safety compliance and resource management (budget).
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in food chemistry, food technology, chemistry, Engineering or other related field.
  • Relevant expertise in plant-based oils and fats chemistry.
  • Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant customer facing working experience in a technical role and associated customer relationship network or relevant R&D expertise on customer level.
  • Solutions driven, with can do attitude and clear sense of pragmatism.
  • Working knowledge of food safety processes and requirements.
  • Fluent in English, written and oral
  • Experience in project management for good outcomes
  • Open for 20% EU-international travel

Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in food chemistry, food technology/engineering, chemistry, human nutrition or other related field.
  • Work experience in Dairy/plant based dairy alternatives industry (customer level).
  • Detailed knowledge of fats and oils chemistry.
  • Understanding of production technologies used for final application for these categories
  • Knowledge of the customer industry’s market and players and bizz needs. Deep Customer relationships with key players in the industry.
  • 5 years of relevant customer facing working experience in a technical advisory role and associate customer relationship network
  • Knowledge of and experience with/in Dairy and Dairy alternatives; what are key drivers
  • Expertise in other ingredient area(s), related to the Dairy and Plant-based alternatives category: sweeteners, starches, proteins, hydrocolloids, emulsifiers, vegetable proteins, fibers, active ingredients…
  • Action driver with emotional intelligence, energetic, excellent influencing skills.
  • Fluent in English, written and oral + min working knowledge of at least 1 other European language (German, French, Spanish,..)
