Trademark Attorney

The Role

In this function you will support the business activities of Atlas Copco by helping the Divisions of the global Compressor Technique and Power Technique business area in achieving their business targets by means of intellectual property rights.

The following tasks are part of the job content:

• Support the business in developing and managing the international trademark portfolio in line with divisional IP strategies and internal IP policies.
• International communication with external IP law firms and IP offices, with our internal communication and marketing departments and with the different IP teams within the Atlas Copco Group.
• Follow-up and coordination of files originating in trademark watches.
• Give internal trainings concerning trademarks and designs and follow IP law developments in international context.
• Conducting trademark related searches.
• Investigate files concerning potential infringement on our trademark rights and assist in setting-up and implementing an action plan in collaboration with internal business stakeholders, the Atlas Copco legal department and external experts.
• You work in the Shared Engineering Services Department of the Airtec Division and report to the Global Head of IP.

What we expect of you?

Knowledge

• Several years of experience in managing trademarks and designs, preferably in an international context.
• Knowledge of copyright is a plus.
• Thorough knowledge of English is a requirement.
• You can work perfectly with PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Knowledge of Sharepoint and O365 is a plus.

Educational requirements

You preferably have a law degree with specialization in intellectual property and have at least several years of experience as BMM or European Trademark Attorney.

Personality requirements

You are very discrete and know how to deal with confidential information.

You work customer oriented, problem solving and structured. You know how to prioritize and how to deal with deadlines.

You stand out by your excellent communication skills, social skills and have a positive attitude. You can work in a team and have a willingness to continue to learn to broaden your knowledge in the field of intellectual property.
