Our client is a globally active manufacturer in the chemical industry with several thousand employees worldwide.In order to continue to drive the clear growth targets sustainably and safely, a career opportunity is available in Central Europe for a committed and hands-on person as a Vice President Environment, Health and Safety (all genders).Experience in the chemical industry, strong leadership skills, excellent proficiency in English
  • Proactively manage, implement and further develop all EHS processes at the more than 200 sites worldwide
  • Advise executive management on all health and safety and environmental protection related issues
  • Ensure that all products comply with all environmental, health and safety policies and protocols, including regulatory requirements
  • Continually improving an effective global EHS management system, including policies and procedures to comply with all elements of ISO certifications
  • Develop sustainable solutions to reduce energy consumption
  • Work closely with operations, procurement, quality, and research and development departments Monitor & empower safety committees, emergency response teams, and otherwise engage employees to achieve EHS/Sustainability goals
  • Manage EHS budget and identify opportunities and actions for savings as well as critical needs
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline
  • 10+ years of global EHS experience in the chemical industry, including at least 5 years in a global leadership role in large corporate structures
  • Ability to analyze complicated EHS topics and summarize them concisely for non-EHS professionals
  • Excellent English skills are required; other language skills are a plus
  • Strong leadership personality with a strategic way of thinking and acting
  • Pragmatic, solution-oriented and hands-on mentality
  • High willingness to travel
