VMware Specialist

CTG IT Solutions, an IT Services Company dedicated toEuropean Institutions, is currently seeking a skilled VMware Specialist to join the multicultural team of a prestigious European Institution in Brussels. As a VMware Specialist, you will have a range of responsibilities, including:

• Managing the VDI infrastructure and its integration in the GSC landscape, ensuring 3rd line support and ticket handling, and collaborating with external parties for escalated incidents/problems
• Designing architecture and conducting technical evaluations of alternatives available on the market
• Handling the migration ofnew systems into the production environment, such as new Windows versions or software products, including defining procedures, training operators, and developing tools
• Evaluating the quality and efficiency of operations by defining and implementing metrics, periodically monitoring metrics, and proposing measures to improve operations’ quality and efficiency
• Assessing training requirements, developing training courses, implementing training sessions, and evaluating training results

To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

• Master’s degree in IT and a minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience
• Fluency in English (knowledge of another European language is a plus)
• Excellent knowledge of ITIL best practices in ICT operations
• Recent practical experience with ICT operations in theVDI workstations domain, including setup, 3rd line support, implementation, SLA follow-up, improvement projects, and escalations.
• Knowledge of VMware Horizon View architecture and deployment
• Proficiency in creating PowerShell scripts to facilitate the management of the VDI environments
• Proficiency in creating and managing virtual machines, including different Windows operating systems
• Strong knowledge of tools for ICT management
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with virtual desktop connections and performance
• Knowledge of VMware vSphere and vCenter management
