General Ledger Accountant Team Leader

A successful, international, multidisciplinary construction company is currently looking for a General Ledger Accountant Team Leader to join its Brussels office.

A new managerial role as a General Ledger Accountant Team Leader has just been created in Brussels due to an internal move. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will have an essential role for the accounting department.

Your main responsibilities as the new General Ledger Accountant Team Leader will include:

• Perform financial reporting activities, including monthly closing entries and preparation of quarterly reports for Group entities
• Control of balance sheet accounts for Group entities
• Act as point of contact for stakeholders within the Group
• Prepare and file statutory annual accounts
• Coordinate the statutory audit process
• Prepare corporate income tax returns
• Prepare and file Belgian VAT returns and related listings

About you:

• You have at least a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Economics
• You have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience. An experience within a Big 4 is considered as an advantage
• You have in-depth knowledge of BE GAAP, including specific rules for branches and joint ventures, as well as accounting rules for foreign exchange transactions. You also have general tax knowledge in the field of corporate income tax and VAT
• You have excellent oral and written communication skills
• You are fluent in French or Dutch. You have a good level of English
• You are sociable, open-minded, self-confident
