GSK have a new role for a General Procurement Manager (PPE & MRO) for a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

As the General Procurement Manager (PPE & MRO) you will support the implementation and management of a comprehensive global sourcing strategy for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role is responsible for executing the PPE category strategy in line with the needs of the Enterprise.

This role will also partner closely with the relevant EHS, Quality, Procurement, WREF and Supply chain teams to ensure the delivery of the benefits identified. It is also responsible for contract performance and procurement governance.

Due to the nature of the product supply chain, for example inventory management, catalogues, etc. this role will be affiliated to the MRO Category team and may be required to work on cross function activities to support wider delivery.

Key Responsibilities

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
  • Responsible for supporting global PPE spend of >£25 million annually across the Global Enterprise.
  • Execute and lead supplier contract performance, supplier relationship management programmes and operational governance.
  • Support the implementation of Global procurement initiatives, such as Buying Goods and Services, Catalogues, contract review and supplier reduction.
  • Business partnering – work collaboratively with EHS, Quality, WREF, site and central engineering functions, Supply Chain and the R&D teams, where appropriate, to support in the delivery of their objectives.
  • Coordinate with Site Procurement teams and the Shared Service Hub as defined by the Operating Model.
  • Manage all PPE sourcing events.
  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
  • Develop and embed processes and ways of working as they evolve
  • Manages relatively small medium to low complexity spend categories
  • Conducts and monitors negotiations across the applicable categories of spend
  • Knows the sourcing group management process and policies; assesses risk
  • Awareness and adherence to risk/ regulatory/ compliance requirements
  • Implements procurement strategies to maximise supplier leverage
  • Researches, evaluates and selects suppliers

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability in managing categories is required, particularly with respect to developing & implementing strategies, stakeholder management and supplier relationship management
  • Demonstrated experience in influencing strategy and managing across multiple geographies and supply chains
  • Demonstrated experience in managing global/ regional projects
  • Proven Procurement experience working in global or multi-regional Pharmaceutical, Consumer Healthcare or FMCG environment.
  • Skilled negotiator adept at managing complex negotiations at management level with both external and internal stakeholders.
  • High energy, enthusiastic and results driven with strong business acumen.
  • Resilient and persistent with the ability to make the right decisions.
  • Develop and present persuasive arguments to deliver change and influence stakeholders.
  • Creative, conceptual thinker, exceptional problem solving/analytical skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work in a matrix environment and with a high tolerance for ambiguity.
