Our people are our most valuable asset. To support and reinforce our R&D team we are looking for a Head of Design to Value.

Mission and Key Tasks

As Head Design to Value EMEAA, you are responsible for the creation and delivery of the yearly product cost saving plan. An important role within the organization as reducing the cost of the products is essential in our competitive environment and vital for our business.
  • With your team of product developers and specialists, you constantly search and qualify cheaper or alternative raw materials without impacting any of the product quality parameters. This goes for all product categories across Ontex being Baby, Adult and feminine hygiene.
  • You work very closely with multiple disciplines (procurement, technical, product development, process development…) within the company and make sure a documented handover can be made to the industrialization team. You will also have extensive contacts with suppliers.
  • With your team you will create competitive product intelligence, enabling benchmark studies as an input to new saving plans.
  • You will have close contact with the financial controllers to report on the plan, the status and mitigation action where needed.
Your team is diverse and based in different countries. The activities can take place in different Ontex production locations, hence a willingness to travel is needed. The home base is preferably Aalst but is open for discussion.

Background and Experience
  • You have a master’s degree in sciences or engineering, with a broad scientific and technical background and a wide interest in product and their production processes
  • Solid knowledge on statistics and Six Sigma is a clear asset
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an international environment, preferably R&D in a related business
  • Proven people management skills
  • Familiar with project management and can work with MS projects
  • Self-dependent and strong decision-making ability
  • You are a strong communicator with good presentation skills
  • Fluent in English is a must
  • You will report directly into the VP Product Development EMEAA
