The opportunity
People Services is looking for an internship in the role of the Quality Assurance Analyst.
As the Quality Assurance Analyst you will help ensure an exceptional user experience with Nokia’s elearning offerings that provides the learner the knowledge to grow personally and professionally. To accomplish this, you will analyze new elearning content on multiple platforms to assure that the learning content functions as intended and renders properly on all device formats and screen sizes.
You will also support the proofreading and editing of certification exam questions. This requires a general understanding of question writing best practices as well as the ability to apply the defined style guidelines to exam questions. This includes identification and removal of unapproved question types, confirmation of question formatting requirements, and identification of poorly worded exam questions. It is not required for the individual to have a technical background in the certification topic, but it would help the effort.
Job Responsibilities & Competencies
- Responsible for supporting the development of comprehensive test strategies, plans, reports and environments for manual or automated testing of learning objects hosted in the LMS.
- Responsible for supporting the development of the quality assurance strategies and planning, effort estimations, risks assessment and mitigation strategies
- Responsible for the execution of test cases and the validation of results within the required deadlines and provide first tier of triage for project defects found during testing
- Work collaboratively with both technical and business oriented project team members to resolve defects and ensure the Quality Assurance efforts are on schedule
- Create application(s) to report and track progress
- Formulate strategies and develop applications to increase testing productivity (areas that lend themselves to automation)
- Review the available documentation on exam writing best practices.
- Review exam specific style guidelines.
- Review the draft exam questions and make corrections to align with the style guideline and exam writing best practices.
- Propose question edits/re-writes when possible to improve the readability of a question.
- Work with question developers to clarify proposed edits or to ensure re-writes do not change the technical validity of the question.
Qualifications
- Requires creative and critical thinking techniques in the effective design, development and implementation of a quality assurance and testing program.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to re-write proposed exam questions to be clear to the test taker.
- Strong English language and editing skills with a focus on English grammar.
