Automation Engineer

What will I be responsible for?

With a broad spectrum of innovative products and solutions, GPC is a leading solution partner for ensuring high reliability and optimal industrial processing industries worldwide. With this background we want to reach out into the new digital business.

Therefore we need to re-enforce our team with an engineer to elaborate software architectural concepts in digitalization projects.

Tasks

  • Work in a team of automation engineers and project managers
  • Elaborate concepts for worldwide implementation of PCS 7 for international collaboration
  • When required, develop custom scripts/modules/Interfaces
  • Ability to define and discuss the detailed technical scope and deliveries with the customer in a pharma and chemical environment
  • Engineer efficient solution for process industry
  • Testing and Commissioning of your solution
  • Documentation of functional requirements, test protocols and deliverables as per GMP requirements
  • Customization and optimization of the solutions for customer specific requirements on site
  • Develop tools and templates to accelerate the engineering process
  • Conduct technical trainings when required, to share development best-practice
  • Propose measures to continuously improve the engineering processes to optimize cost and quality
  • Business ethics and compliance in working with customers, suppliers and internally

Knowledge and Skills

  • Successfully completed University degree with technical or scientific focus preferably on Automation
  • Knowledge in database management technologies and data modeling and in coding automatisms
  • Capability of working in an international/multi-cultural environment, rapid self-starting skills and experience in team working, understanding the needs, objectives and constraints of those in other disciplines and functions. Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Good communication skills and an effective team player.
  • Travelling is required
  • Good English language skills both written and spoken; Dutch and/or French.
  • Knowledge in DCS SIMATIC PCS 7 / Batch is an asset
