Purpose Of The Job

Analyze, identify, define, validate, implement, optimize, document and train the product ecodesign processes. Supports the Environmental Compliance Office with Extended Producer Responsibility management and data collection.

Main Accountabilities
  • Provide process support for the Environmental Compliance Office in such a way that ecodesign is embedded within Barco’s business processes.
  • Maintain and optimize the process by means of methodology, documentation, training and tools.
  • Follow-up world-wide environmental technologies, legislation and translate requirements (for example: ecodesign, hazardous substance and waste regulation).
  • Gatekeep ecodesign product compliance for new developed products; aligned with Barco’s worldwide NPI process.
  • Maintain and update Barco’s Ecoscore tool methodology according ISO 14021 requirements. Coach R&D to further improve the Ecoscore in line with corporate targets.
  • Report WEEE, batteries and packaging data to comply with EPR obligations.

Requirements

Education

Bachelor or Masters degree in a technical domain (engineering, sustainability, ecology, …) or equivalent by experience.

Experience
  • 2 years of process implementation experience in a similar design and/or production environment
  • Good knowledge about best practices in (LCA) product lifecycle analysis
  • Experience with Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and risk assessment tools
  • Experience with Ecodesign and product Sustainability

Competences
  • Excellent knowledge of English, both oral and written (communication, documentation)
  • Good organization, planning and problem-solving skills
  • Fast learning / willing to learn about environmental compliance, Ecodesign and Barco products
  • Passion for achieving results and optimization
  • Able to work in a multi-cultural team
  • Service oriented team-player
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
