Field Applications Scientist – Flow Cytometry

Location: Field (remote)Benelux and Nordics

Division: Life Science Group

How will you make an impact?

As a Field Application Scientist, you will provide scientific expertise; applications support and training to customers on Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Flow Cytometry Portfolio.
This may include in-person, phone, email and/or video communications. A Field Application Scientist will partner with sales reps in the field to deliver product line-specific, pre-, and post-sales-related customer support activities, and solve customer escalations effectively.
Also, you will act as a trusted expert to our customers, thereby increasing customer satisfaction and loyalty and contributing to the overall success of the business.
The geography of responsibility is Benelux and the Nordics countries

What will you do?
  • Perform system installation, demonstration, and training on relevant products at customer or company locations
  • Prepares and present seminars to a wide array of audiences
  • Partner with regional, and global teams to support the organization in the achievement of the regional commercial, service and support goals
  • Solve customer escalations effectively through in-depth troubleshooting
  • Remain up to date with product and state of the art scientific know-how
  • Work in line with our support & service competencies, processes, and company values
How will you get here?
  • Ph.D. or Master in the Cell Biology field and relevant experiences
  • Several years of experience working with laboratory techniques; cell separation, flow cytometry, cell culture, cell sorting
  • Experience in presenting technical materials in written and verbal form
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical problems
  • Strong communication skills
  • Fluent English, speaking Dutch and French is a significant plus
  • Demonstrated ability to read, analyse, and interpret common scientific and technical reports and apply
  • Able to travel throughout area of responsibility (up to 50% travel)
