Salesforce has a long-standing team of expert industry advisors, supporting our key accounts with provocative, technology agnostic point-of-views on business and digital strategy. We cover the majority of the industries, including financial services, manufacturing and retail.
We are creating a new sub-team of Industry Advisors to focus on the next stage of innovation, as both a think tank as well as an incubator for new areas of business. The new team will work closely with the sales teams, execs and our industry advisors to identify emerging growth areas. The pockets-of-growth may include new (sub)sectors to focus on (e.g., professional services, industrial high tech), regions to further mature (e.g., Middle East), new cross-industry plays (e.g., digital amplification of sustainability strategies, digital in PMI) and new account types to engage with (e.g., working with our private equity teams).
As an Industry Advisor you will be in charge of:
- Listening closely to our customers and sales execs to identify the next areas of growth
- Concretely developing plans and assets (e.g., go-to-market strategy, new point-of-views) to address the newly identified opportunities - in a highly entrepreneurial way
- Steering the efforts towards maximum impact (e.g., newly created ACV or brand equity), creating both internal and external interest
- Scaling the proven areas of innovation to the broader community, e.g., productizing the solution in collaboration with SF Industries, organizing (global) enablement programs with SF Enablement, connecting customers together over round-tables, sharing thought leadership during SF or 3rd party events
In addition, you will support key engagements in the Global Industry Advisory team, e.g.,
- Supporting OU leaders with the development of compelling industry go-to-market strategies, bringing together both global and local teams
- Executing cross-industry levers - e.g., concretely driving global industry enablement sessions
Profile requirements
We are looking for entrepreneurial people, who can quickly grasp new topics, navigate a complex organization, operate independently, can self-motivate. Ideal candidates would have:
- 5+ years working in tier 1 consulting (e.g., McKinsey, Bain, BCG), investment banking or private equity
- Have a proven record of launching new concepts and ideas within larger organizations, and interfacing with senior leaders
- Strong analytical, problem solving skills and factual approach to solving problems
- Ability to take a practical approach to business development in a technology sales context – being proactive and hands-on in delivering key assets such as value proposition material, sales enablement, demand generation plans and execution
- Willingness to both think strategically - as well as getting the hands dirty with concrete asset building
- A good baseline understanding of cloud applications / platform industry and our technology sales model / culture
- Willing to travel (mainly inside Europe) to support on-going activities, deals and meet internal customers (field sales, presales, marketing) and customers at times (maximum 30%)
- Fluency in English is a must and any other major European language is a plus
- MBA is a plus
