Your Role and Responsibilities
  • Work closely with IBM Government and Regulatory Affairs colleagues as well as Legal and Business units to define IBM positions on cybersecurity policy and assess the impact of regulatory developments on IBM services and operations.
  • Develop and coordinate advocacy strategies in cybersecurity policy and technologies such as Data analytics, Cloud, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, etc.
  • Engage directly with European Union policymakers and regulators to shape policy around the values and interests of IBM.
  • Actively participate in the work of trade associations and industry coalitions.
  • Facilitate and support the policy engagements of senior IBM executives and the Government and Regulatory Affairs leadership.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • 5 to 10-year professional experience working with EU institutions and national governments on public policy and regulatory issues.
  • Solid knowledge of the EU legislative process and institutions, as well as proven expertise in cybersecurity policy.
  • Strong government relations, analytical and organisational skills.
  • Ability to develop advocacy campaigns with strategic thinking and manage multiple projects and policy issues with a results-oriented approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to prioritise team efforts and objectives.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, other languages a definite plus.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Professional experience working in a European Union institution, national government or close interaction with regulatory agencies.
  • Expertise in EU and global technology policy issues.
