You are:

You master:

  • Master or bachelor in Mechanical Engineering ( specialized in automation is a plus).
  • Design Knowledge of CREO
  • Mechanical design experience
  • Knowledge of safety and ergonomics during the design process
  • FMEA & DFA knowledge
  • Languages: Dutch speaking (needs to explain and draft instructions for production colleagues)
  • Know how in optics, mechanics and visualization techniques and applications is a plus
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Teamplayer with a hands-on mentality (assemble tools)
  • Work in a dynamic team of about 20 engineers who are collaborating in a supportive manner
  • Good communication skills, written and spoken, in English and Dutch
  • Can work projectwise & independent

As Industrialization/MechanicalEngineer, you will be able to influence the Barco production processes of the future and as such assure competitive advantage for the Belgium Operations plant. Operations colleagues will depend on you to support them in their day to day manufacturing activities as well.


Your role:

  • Guide project teams as mechanical designer and support in the design, development and implementation of flexible and lean processes, state of the art techniques and efficient toolings.
  • Analyze and implement technical solutions in order to increase quality, productivity and speed within production.
  • Design, develop and implement flexible, lean processes and state of the art test solutions.
  • Influence the design for Automation and testability to ensure cost-effective test solutions and smooth production flows.
  • Point of contact for external contacts to support our projects.
  • Follow up evolutions in mechanics /robotics /automation to stay a trendsetter in this area
  • Initiate and implement improvement ideas
  • Support manufacturing teams where needed
