The purpose of the role

Griffith Foods is looking for an entrepreneurial spirit to develop further the customer relationship at several Key Accounts within the Benelux. Customers will be part of the Market Segment Snacks (Crisps and Nuts processors) and also the Market Segment Proteins (processors of red meat, poultry and plant-based proteins) within Germany.

As a Key Account Manager, you will sell Griffith Foods seasonings, sauces and coating systems with existing and new customers to achieve volume and margin in line with the defined strategy and budgets. You will work together with sales, product development and marketing to execute the strategy for our Market Segment Snacks and our Market Segment Proteins.

For this job position, candidates will need to be located within a two-hour commuting distance from Herentals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Griffith Foods- customer relationship, including:
  • account management: maintain current revenue and margins
  • co-ordination of all customer visits as required
  • creation of partnerships with relevant stakeholders of the customer
  • negotiation of prices with respect to agreed margins
  • follow-up of the offers, preparation and drafting of the contracts
  • proactively looking to improve margin via price increases, value engineering, and product mix management
  • management of the customer portfolio: guarantee market share, the spread of risk, ensure payment
  • active prospecting and detection of new opportunities
  • supply clear customer forecast information to enable efficient planning and scheduling
  • management of all relevant internal relationships to enable the delivery of commercial objectives
  • coordination of technical and commercial activities
  • follow-up of customer feedback and/or complaints
  • organisation of presentations for existing and potential customers alongside marketing and development functions
  • management of the development pipeline within customer base in conjunction with CRM and GF development function
  • Follow the market, competition and new development and feeds back to the business
  • Provide sales reports as required
  • Participate actively in sales meetings to obtain and share information across the sales function
  • Responsible for building and maintaining account plans across area of responsibility
  • Proactive involvement in setting the future strategic direction of the GF Protein processors business
  • Exchange relevant information with internal customers to service the external customer in the best way, including:
  • management of project pipeline in CRM
  • resolution of any supply or quality issues
  • preparation of forecasts and budgets
  • follow-up on the projects
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Business administration, Economics, Marketing or similar or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in B2B ingredient sales/development within the Northern Europe Snack industry
  • Knowledge of savory ingredients or snack and protein products, their characteristics and the market
  • A good knowledge of English and Dutch. Knowledge of other European languages is a plus
  • Proactive mindset, can work independently and as part of a team. You feel energised by exploring new opportunities and accelerating topline sales
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to successfully negotiate
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Skilled in PC usage and MS Office
  • Valid driving license
