Job DescriptionAs a Design Engineer you are involved, together with the engineering team of TECforLime, in the complete design of the new lime production facilities.
TECforLime was launched in 2018. It is a new platform for services and solutions owned 100% by the Carmeuse Group , offering its technical expertise and know-how in lime production to all end-markets. Its team of engineers works hand-in-hand with customers and application experts to tailor its solutions to each and every situation.
Your Responsibilities
Conceptual phase
- Collect the data required to start the design.
- Define the first process flow diagram and mass balance of the project.
- Define the general architecture and lay-out of the plant.
- Make Request for Quotation and Offers Comparison of the process and handling equipment.
- Elaborate the technical feasibility study of the project (Technical Assumptions + Cost approach).
- Build and manage the budget and schedule of the mechanical design engineering part of the project.
- Prepare the technical specifications for all equipment and participate to the purchasing process (technical negotiation).
- Define, with our engineering team, the architecture of the process buildings (equipment integration, structural parts, piping, utilities, cable ways, instrument integration, …).
- Follow and manage the development of the basic engineering with our design team (internally or with external supplier) – PID, Equipment List.
- Prospect possible new suppliers for equipment or new workshops for structural parts.
- Develop the 3D model of the new production facility with external supplier.
- Develop with our engineering partners the complete workshop drawings and documentation package for our workshops and erection companies.
- Check the fabrication in our workshops.
- Integrate all the auxiliary equipment and utility networks.
- Contact point with our erection companies on site for technical questions.
- Engineering support during erection phase.
- Manage the improvements or modifications.
- Inspection on site.
With the process team, participate to the cold commissioning and start-up of the new equipment.
Your profile
Education
- University degree: In Mechanical - Electromechanical.
- Experience of 10 to 15 years in an industrial environment and more especially in similar industries (mines or quarries, steel industries, …) with at least 5 years in an Engineering context.
- Good experience in design of bulk handling and mining process equipment or facilities.
- Used to work in project team environment.
- Knowledge of ATEX constraints based on past experiences is a plus.
- Office tools knowledge.
- Mechanical equipment design (selection of mechanical parts involved in a design).
- Fluid Mechanics (hydraulic, pneumatic), thermodynamic (able to design or give specifications guidelines to external supplier).
- Metallic structure design (overall knowledge – able to challenge and criticize external Engineering Company).
- Civil Engineering (overall knowledge – able to criticize external Engineering Company).
- Able to interact with Electrical , Instrumentation and Automation.
- Project management knowledge is a plus.
- Welding theory knowledge is a plus.
- Software: windows softwares, autocad, solidworks, MS Project.
- Language : English: fluent ( especially for technical discussion).
- Able to adapt his way of thinking to the different phases of the project:
- Innovative and creative (in conceptual phase)
- Analytical and autonomous (in basic engineering),
- Organized, sense of priorities, methodic (in detailed engineering)
- Adaptation to different cultural environment (engineering suppliers, workshops, erection) (in fabrication and erection phases).
- Ability and agility to work in a project management organization.
- Able to interact within a multidisciplinary team through the different phases of the project.
- Will be based in our TECforLime office in Louvain-La-Neuve.
- Free to travel abroad for the management of the different phases of the projects (+/- 10% of the time) and more especially during the commissioning of the projects.
- Rigorous with the documentation storage.
- Eased with remote communication through Teams.
- Analytical and problem-solving attitude on reliability issues with our designs (especially on TFL development products).
