Major tasks and core competencies for System Engineer SAS:

1. Operate as a “linking-pin” between the offshore team in India and the organization.

Strong communication skills with profound English.

Strong collaboration and empathic skills to come to E2E solutions.

Strong assertive skills to operate in a large organization and to easily and quickly build up professional relationships.

Strong technical expertise on classic BI tools to explain and discuss/agree on proposals/solutions with stakeholders.

Understand the ECO system

ability to quickly acquire new knowledge in all underlying and supporting infrastructure systems (Webseal, storage, UAC,…).

implement the security mechanisms available.

2. Although the System Engineer SAS will not primarily focus on RUN activities, in situations of critical or high impact incidents where customers or stakeholders are impacted, the System Engineer SAS will need to manage and perform all reporting, explanation and communication tasks. It is therefore important that the System Engineer SAS also has thorough technical expertise on all RUN activities. We are looking for a person with the right technical expertise to – when required – can quickly dive into the content and can work together with the offshore team on the solution and is able to coordinate with the organization.

3. As a senior technical profile, the System Engineer SAS will also work on the more complex CONTINUITY scope (all small/large changes/enhancements) and when required also coordinate these implementations at onsite, report/communicate to Product Owner, stakeholders, developers and BI Community and explain/guide them on the changes that are coming their way. He should have an excellent level of technical expertise to work together with the offshore team on this scope.

4. In larger TRANSFORM topics (larger and more complex changes/transformations to our service and product catalogue) the System Engineer SAS will participate in the project team which will implement these transform topics. We expect the System Engineer SAS to coordinate these project implementations at onsite, report/communicate to stakeholders, developers and BI Community and explain/guide them on the changes that are coming their way.

Some of the technical skills in SAS relevant to the job are :

SAS Server administration (SAS Server, user, License renewals,)

SAS development background (Base SAS, SAS EG)

installation, configuration, patching, backup and recovery of SAS software

ability to set up connection to/from SAS to different RDBMS (MS SQL, DB2,Oracle,etc)

apply SAS Hotfix/ upgrade to new versions

SAS Admin experience in Unix/Linux and Windows platform

creation and maintenance of system documentation related to the SAS environment

respond to and resolve tickets on technical issues related to SAS Platform within defined SLAs

reading through SAS logs to work through problems finding root causes and rectifying

Windows Scripting, Perl, PowerShell, VB Scripting and JavaScript

Maintenance and usage of SAS on Mainframe

supporting mainframe jobs that use SAS programs

apply SAS Hotfix/ upgrade to new versions

setup of SAS/Internet environment and several SASWeb servers (per business domain)

SAS/AF Frame & SCL (development)

usage of the tools like ISPF Dialog Manager, TSO/TPX,RACF,JCL,REXX,Clist,Changeman,PDS/PDSE/VSAM,MXG and DB2/QMF
