For our headquarters in Brussels (see the map here) we’re looking for a Pipelines and Knowledge Development Manager (m/f/x).

Job
purpose

You will develop a new network of H2 and CO2 pipelines in line with market requirements and research departments, and you will develop and make available the relevant knowledge enabling the construction and operation of these green networks under safe and reliable conditions.

Your
responsibilities

• In close collaboration with the next grid department, you will manage the realisation of a portfolio of sustainable pipeline projects in Belgium.
• You will define the project realisation trajectory, taking into account environmental factors and regional plans. You will collaborate with the other departments with respect to the project study phase, securing the relevant permits and implementation.
• You will ensure projects are realised on time and on budget, and you will report on these matters.
• You will be responsible for developing knowledge with respect to studies, tests and research, both at Fluxys and in collaboration with other partners and research institutes, in order to promote the technical development of the new gas network (operation, integrity, environmental protection and safety).
• You will collate information developed internally and externally and you will be responsible for setting up a knowledge base made available to internal departments (engineering, permits, operations, commercial) to enable them to achieve their environmental objectives.
• You will advise the International Business Developer when proposed solutions are being evaluated and when technical decisions for international projects are being made.
• To achieve your objectives, you will be supported by a small team of highly qualified employees whom you will motivate and supervise. You will work closely with other internal departments and ensure the effective management of human, financial and technical resources.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• a master’s degree in engineering sciences (civil engineering);
• at least 10 years of professional experience in a technical environment;
• experience in researching and building gas transmission lines on public land and in the transmission of sustainable fluids, such as H2, CO2, methanol and ammonia;
• knowledge of the use of materials and procedures relating to these fluids;
• strong leadership and communication skills;
• the ability to collaborate effectively with your colleagues in a matrix business environment and to effectively leverage your network;
• good conceptual skills in order to convert Fluxys’ strategic guidelines into specific objectives and come up with solutions that enable the network to be developed in the field;
• a good command of Dutch, French and English.
