We provide merchandisers and buyers with a powerful and user-friendly analytics platform to make the best decisions at every moment throughout the life cycle of a product. The retail industry produces a tremendous amount of content, from images to texts. We are now looking for a new colleague ready to develop the next generation of insights combining business and programming expertise.
Our Data Science & Data Processing team is looking for a senior data engineer with four or more years’ worth of experience in Big Data, Engineering or Software industries. As a senior data engineer at RETVIEWS we’ll expect you to build and maintain data processing pipelines for production environments, develop tools and support other teams at RETVIEWS. You’ll be managing multiple projects at once, so you’ll need to be organised, resourceful and result driven to make technical expertise at the company move forward.
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create, test and monitor pipelines used in the ETL processes
• Help with designing and maintaining the databases in both transactional and analytical environments
• Implement and maintain routines (store procedures) for daily transactional queries
• Help with improving the performance of queries by making sure the optimal indexes are used
• Help with maintaining and improving the infrastructure required for the extraction, transformation, and loading of data

Minimum qualifications:

• Analytial/Engineering background (e.g. Master’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics or other Engineering fields)
• Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Strong python programming skills
• Strong experience designing streaming and/or batch data pipelines
• Good knowledge of git or any other version control system
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal) – French or Dutch is a plus
• Open-minded and with a great sense of humour

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in architecting database systems
• Experience with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with Google Cloud (or other Cloud Services provider)
• Affinity with DataOps topics
• Affinity with fun and beers
