The aim of the Excellence Center is to support the GBUs to accelerate the value delivery of Operational Excellence initiatives and fully leverage the potential of emerging digital technologies.

The ambition of the CEM Program, one of the core programs to transform Solvay across the Group, is to drive more value from our customers, in line with each Global Business Unit’s mandate; to become best-in-class in how we serve our clients and having a harmonized, “Solvay One” approach towards our customer, leveraging the full Solvay portfolio.
This will be achieved by fostering behavior shifts towards “Customer Obsession”, creating a culture of performance management for customers (e.g. common vocabulary to measure performance, creating transparency on customers’ cost-to-serve), optimizing resource allocation of frontline employees (incl. long tail management), enhancing (strategic) key account management, leveraging best practices whilst allowing for GBU specificities (“unity, not uniformity”) and further developing our commercial & business talent through our Solvay Sales Academy. With a cross-functional approach, the CEM program addresses profitable volume growth, market share gain, share-of-wallet expansion and winning new customers.

Job Overview and Responsibilities

To reinforce the CEM department, we are looking for a Project Leader in Pricing to drive sustainable transformation and deliver important and tangible impact, by integrating 3 dimensions: technical system, performance management, and mindsets & behaviors.

Reporting to the Global Head of Pricing she/he will be responsible to:
  • Lead GBU pricing enablement processes (Organization, Training, Governance)
  • Lead pricing projects / initiatives:
    • price increase Campaigning
    • monthly key pricing KPI & GBU initiative tracking
    • deep dive / bleeder analytics
    • contract database reviews
  • Drive overall pricing analytics, develop and test pricing hypothesis, identify data issues and optimize related processes
  • Lead pricing tool development (Analytics, Algorithm based pricing, price adjustment campaigns, price setting, CPQ / price execution modules)
  • Overall engagement/change management and communication plan
  • “Animation” of Pricing Excellence resources across the Group
  • Training and Development of people in the project via structured coaching and capability building
  • Development of methodologies and playbooks

Education and Experience

  • Result oriented with a hands-on mentality
  • Excellent analytical skills to be able to identify opportunities based on data and process analysis
  • Effective collaboration with cross functional and international teams
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to turn data into data-driven insights/stories
  • 3-5 years relevant pricing experience in industry (preferred chemicals / materials) or pricing consultancy.
  • Experience with pricing -software and CRM / ERP tools (Salesforce, SAP & business warehouse environment)
  • Experience working across functions, and presenting to senior executives to persuade actions, achieve outcomes
  • Master degree in business administration, economics, and/or finance or similar
