Description

Mevex systems are installed around the world in industrial facilities sterilizing single-use lifesaving medical devices such as wound care, bandages, petri dishes, catheters, gloves and masks.

Position summary

You will be part of the European team of service engineers, based in Mont-Saint-Guibert Belgium, travelling globally to install and maintain Mevex Linear Accelerator Systems (Linacs), conveying and automation systems.

Mevex Industrial Linacs generate a beam of electrons using precise mechanical assemblies, cavities under high vacuum, high power Radio Frequency (RF), electronic controls, high voltage systems and magnetic steering elements.

Mevex Industrial Conveyor systems are state of the art product handling systems consisting of a precision conveyor systems moving boxes and pallets in front of the Linac, product buffering system, photo eyes, blade stops, bar code generators and readers, box flippers, pallet rotators, Siemens PLCs, ...

You will interact with Customers across the globe and coordinate repairs with other Mevex regional offices in Canada, Thailand and France.

What you will do with us:

Install new sterilization systems

• Be part of the installation team responsible to deliver new projects
• Install industrial equipment according to planning and processes
• Solve problems occurring during installation
• Validate equipment after installation
• Train Mevex’s customers to use equipment

Maintain our Customer’s operational sterilization systems

• Assist Customers with day-to-day issues or questions
• Perform preventive maintenance of the equipment during service
• Solve remotely un-planned problems during production
• Travel to site to solve problems if needed
• Recommend Customers about spare parts and upgrades that would improve system reliability
• Document and report interventions, visits, parts usage

You will travel 25 to 50% of your time mainly in Europe and Asia

Profile

The ideal candidate with have:

• A valid passport from a European country
• Bachelor or Master’s degree in mechanics, automation, electronics or electro-mechanics or equivalent experience
• Relevant experience in some of the following fields : installation or maintenance of industrial systems, troubleshooting of mechanical, electronics or electrical systems, cooling systems, vacuum systems, PLC’s, high voltage equipment, ...
• Hands-on and pragmatic
• Enjoys working on-site
• Problem-solving spirit
• Willing to learn
• Team player
• Fluency in English (daily work with English speaking colleagues and Customers)
• Willing to travel 25 to 50% of time
