The company

Elia is the operator of the Belgian high-voltage transmission grid (380 kV to 30 kV) and is responsible for developing and maintaining the grid, providing users with access to it and controlling energy flows. The Elia group is a team of 2,000 professionals who have the task of ensuring the continuity of electricity supplies in Belgium.

Function

As offshore safety & operations officer, you support the O&M activities in the daily management of our offshore assets. In this, you work very closely with the operational team and maintenance managers and are responsible for the coordination, monitoring and safety of our offshore interventions.

  • You are responsible for the organisation, supervision and follow-up of our offshore interventions (eWind, RAMS, etc.)
  • You look after:
  • Weather and vessel monitoring.
  • Logistics follow-up and coordinationo Operational offshore safety, procedures and planning/executing ERP drills.
  • Operational stakeholders management with customers (wind farms), maritime authorities and administrations.
  • Warehousing and management of delivery quay.
  • Responsible for the Onshore Coordination Centre (OCC) for offshore.
  • Responsible for the operational Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and the coordination of the offshore crisis cell.
  • Planning and follow-up of offshore training courses and certification.
  • Further development of operational safety using our offshore operational management package eWind.

Your Profile

  • You have a higher education degree (preferably a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in nautical sciences) or at least several years of experience in a similar position with offshore projects.
  • You have strong organisational and communication skills.
  • You have a sharp analytical mind and strong problem-solving skills.
  • You are bilingual in Dutch-English at a fluent level and have a good knowledge of French.
  • You are able to prepare and review procedures, method statements and safety documents.
  • You have a level 2 (or 3) prevention adviser certificate.
  • You want to participate fully in the development of our offshore organisation.
  • You are able to carry out the necessary risk analyses and vessel audits.
  • From your base in the Assets department, you support the O&M related topics for future offshore projects and the further development of our HV infrastructure.
  • You are a fluent and assertive team player.
  • You are flexible and prepared to participate in interventions offshore.
  • You have a thorough knowledge of IT.
