Are you passionate about developing cutting-edge firmware solutions for industrial sensors? Do you thrive in a dynamic environment where innovation and creativity are celebrated? We are seeking a talented and minimum 2-3 years experienced Firmware Engineer to join our I-care Industrial IoT research and development team in Mons, Belgium. As a key member of our R&D Industrial IoT team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining firmware applications for predictive maintenance industrial sensors and solutions.

Your role:

  • Design, develop, and debug embedded software for industrial sensor applications
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate firmware with sensor hardware
  • Implement and optimize communication protocols, with a focus on OpenThread (802.15.4)
  • Conduct unit testing and integration testing to ensure software reliability and performance
  • Work closely with R&D, Production and QA teams to identify and resolve software issues
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to embedded systems
  • Write clear, concise, and well-documented code adhering to best practices

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automation or any related Engineering field
  • 2-3 years of experience in embedded software development
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C
  • Familiarity with OpenThread (802.15.4) or similar wireless communication protocols
  • Experience with firmware development for industrial sensors is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Fluent in both French and English languages
  • Experience with version control systems, preferably GitLab
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
