The Compressor Technique business area turns industrial ideas into compressed air solutions; gas and process equipment and related management systems. It has a global service network and its passionate people, expertise and service bring sustainable value to industries everywhere. Principal product development and manufacturing units are located in Belgium, the United States, China, India, Germany and Italy.

The CT-IS department caters for IT application services and support for all business processes of Compressor Technique.

The IT and application landscape is very diverse and in the midst of a high pace of transformation. We are looking for a technology and cloud-savvy junior architect who is willing to support our IT teams in their journey towards cloud.

You will enjoy the tight collaboration with IT and different business stakeholders in all domains of our organization. The knowledge you acquire along the way, will give you an excellent start to grow further in the organization; either in an architect role or other roles.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • You will support IT teams in their cloud activities (eg. development, deployment, configuration, optimization, monitoring, …)
  • You will support IT teams with lift-and-shift activities, in which application servers and databases are relocated from conventional datacenters towards the cloud
  • You will support IT Teams application modernization activities in which applications are (partially) redesigned towards more cloud-native technologies
  • You will interact with internal and external third party IT partners to optimize their cloud services in relationship to our needs

What We Expect From You
  • A degree in (applied) informatics or computer science. You’re looking for a first job opportunity or already have a first working experience.
  • You have a broad general IT interest in various domains like development, hosting, operations, architecture, infrastructure, networking, databases and storage, integration, …
  • You have a broad technical interest and savviness. Concepts like DevOps, CI/CD, IaC, IaaS, PaaS, CaaS, SaaS, FaaS, … make sense to you.
  • You have proven technical skills (eg. coding), either from educational, personal or work experience
  • You are fully committed towards cloud and willing to learn all ins and outs, with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure
  • An inquisitive and curious nature, like to experiment and learn
  • You are persistent and able to pursue goals, without giving up
  • A pragmatic approach to new challenges and the ability to rapidly switch tasks depending on priorities
  • You have good communication skills and can easily adapt your style
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, for collaboration in multinational teams
