It starts in our Public Sector Strategy team which is in full expansion. We are looking for a Consultant Future of Mobility - Public Transport:

• Contribute to a wide range of transport & mobility projects, helping our public sector clients (e.g. NMBS, Infrabel, De Lijn, MIVB/STIB, Skeyes, Departement MOW, Vlaamse Waterweg, FOD Mobiliteit, cities and municipalities, …) to cope with the challenges they are facing;
• Convert your understanding of transport & mobility trends, regulations, challenges and opportunities into client opportunities and project work;
• Work with Partners, Directors and (Senior) Managers to develop hypotheses and work out plans that address project objectives;
• Support the client in determining its strategy and defining the right set of initiatives and projects to execute this strategy;
• Deliver engagements, including leading the approach, liaising with stakeholders, and directing activities of people on the project team;
• Have quality discussions with clients, demonstrate creativity combined with strategy and mobility/public transport knowledge;
• Perform qualitative and quantitative research, delivering high-quality study reports and oral communications with internal and client stakeholders; your expertise in transport modelling is a clear asset;
• Involvement in business development activities such as proposals and contribute to our Future of Mobility thought leadership by drafting eminence (e.g. white papers, newsletters) in the area of smart mobility;
• Provide professional development opportunities and feedback for junior team members;
• Be involved in EU and Belgians transport and mobility network, closely monitoring policy trends and client opportunities;
• Engage in internal initiatives bringing Deloitte towards "net zero" by changing our internal mobility behavior.

Let’s talk about you

• You have a masters/postgraduate degree in Mobility Management. Any additional masters/postgraduate (Commercial or Civil Engineering, Commercial Sciences, (Applied) Economics, Financial or Political sciences) is an advantage.
• You’re fascinated by the role of public sector in the mobility ecosystem enabling and accelerating innovative and sustainable mobility solutions for citizens and companies;
• You have at least 3 years of working experience within public transport entities in a strategic advisory role (e.g. NMBS, Infrabel, MIVB/STIB, De Lijn, Skeyes, Dep. MOW, Vlaamse Waterweg, …)
• You master key concepts and have solid knowledge of policies and trends in the broader field of transport & mobility, such as seamless passenger transport, MaaS, urban plannningy and/or ground transportation (rail, road etc.), ITS, autonomous mobility, etc.
• You have a basic understanding of the transportation technology landscape (including the role of starters and scale-ups)
• Transport modelling capabilities are a clear asset.
• You have a good understanding how European, national and regional regulations on climate and energy are impacting public transport.
• You are pro-active, curious, open-minded, creative, enthusiastic, flexible, and a natural team player.
• You have the ability to form your own opinion and support it by objective argumentation.
• You have excellent communication and presentation skills in Dutch (spoken and written). Knowledge of French and English are an advantage.
