To strengthen our team in Andenne, we are looking for a: Quality & Environment Affairs Assistant Officer (Part-Time)

Your mission:

Located in the heart of our R&D site in Andenne, you will be instrumental in supporting quality and environmental initiatives, addressing non-conformities, and fostering continuous improvement to meet the highest industry standards.

What you will do:

  • Team empowerment: Support and coach teams across departments to achieve quality and environmental goals, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Continuous improvement: Assist in the implementation and enhancement of quality and environmental procedures to improve operational efficiency.
  • Data management: Oversee data management tasks in ERP software, support digital quality projects, and create necessary work instructions and procedures.
  • Problem solving: Handle non-conformities and complaints by applying problem-solving tools to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Supplier collaboration: Assess supplier risks, ensure compliance with QA/Environmental requirements, and maintain strong partnerships for quality improvements.
  • Regulatory compliance: Stay informed about relevant regulations and assist in ensuring site-wide compliance with food, environmental, and safety standards.
  • Training & coaching: Conduct training sessions on QA/Environmental standards and ensure that the team understands and applies them consistently.

What we expect from you:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food, Chemical, or Biochemical Engineering preferred, or a related field.
  • Experience: first experience in a similar quality function in the food industry is a plus
  • Languages: Fluent in French and proficient in English. Knowledge of Dutch, German, or Spanish is a plus.
  • Organizational excellence: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and maintain meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of quality and environmental processes.
  • Effective communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey complex information, train and coach team members, and collaborate seamlessly across different departments.
  • Problem-solving & analytical skills: Proactive in identifying issues, conducting root cause analyses using structured tools and developing effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Team collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work cohesively with diverse teams, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Autonomy: Capacity to work independently, make informed decisions, and manage responsibilities without constant supervision
  • Adaptability and initiative: Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges, with a proactive mindset to propose innovative solutions and drive process improvements.
  • Regulatory awareness: Familiarity with relevant quality, food safety, and environmental standards, with the ability to ensure compliance and keep up to date with changing regulations.
  • Technical proficiency: Competent with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for data management, reporting, and presentations. Experience with SAP for data input, tracking, and reporting is considered a strong asset.
